Doc. Feel: Johnny, thank you so much for taking the time for QC and our readers. I know you are a very busy man and time is precious so we really appreciate this.

Johnny:
No sweat

DF: I have to say you have the most captivating eyes. Do you get complimented on them often?

Johnny:
Very often. As I get older they seem to have really become very noticeable; they are definitely one of my best features.

DF: Your life and stardom have really taken off in the last few years, how exciting is all this for you?

Johnny:
A little overwhelming at some times and very unexpected that’s for sure. This was never a plan of mine; porn star and all, so everything that has and continues to happen has been most exciting.

DF: Johnny, you are very different than most Adult Stars. You are very down to earth and even have a great blog that you run with your awesome Boy Wonder, Jerrod. What keeps you grounded as opposed to unapproachable?

Johnny:
I try to remain humble all the time; I know who I am and try very hard not to lose sight of that. I also never really strived to become the Adult Film success so now that I am it’s like “Oh, this is cool.” I also have goals that lie outside this realm of film and publicity; that keeps my feet on the floor and nose out from the sky.

DF: How do you think most of your friends would describe you?

Johnny:
Why don’t I let one of my nearest and dearest friends, Saya, field that one -

First and foremost, Johnny is absolutely his own person…you can tell he is someone who has walked many a mile on his own path, knows exactly who he is, and is quite comfortable in his own skin. Beyond that, he is principled, caring, fun, mischievous, conscientious, adventurous, curious, wise and full of integrity. Just so no one thinks he is perfect, he can also be a little impatient, and if you happen to work in a restaurant with him, he can be a real table hog! All that being said, he is a love.

DF: At your maturity, you put most 20 year olds to shame. Where do you get all the energy?

Johnny:
I have many, many goals and am constantly trying new things. All this combined with trying to keep a social life, working a full time job in Boston and fulfilling my contractual obligations in LA keep me going to say the least.

DF: Johnny, I have to talk about the dancing videos. I personally love them. I am not a huge dancer, but watching you have so much fun while dancing makes me happy and actually makes me want to get up and dance. What inspired the dance video ideas?

Johnny:
The first one was Spellbound

and it was born out of a need for content for my blog and a little free time on a rainy afternoon in San Francisco. The second one, Moving Into Light, was also something rather unplanned. We were in LA, BW and I, hoping to record a video for another song which sort of bottomed out. We decided that a little “juice” was in order to recharge our spirits; we turned on a favorite song of ours, kept the camera rolling and voila! Our best ideas come when we least expect them.

DF: What is a typical day like for Johnny Hazzard?

Johnny:
I am up rather early and start out my day with a cup of steamed broccoli, fruit and a protein shake. A session at the computer to see what sort of day business speaking I will have, compile either a mental or written list of must calls and then hit the gym. If I have to work it will be soon there after and if not then I am working on my clothing line.

DF: Paint me a picture of what your world was like as a child.

Johnny:
Full of love and attention. Family members were around all the time with tons of support. We were always hanging out with family and because of that I have a strong sense of family and friends that sticks with me today.

DF: Are you close with your family and do they know about your career?

Johnny:
I am very close with my family; especially my mother and yes, everybody knows. They might not say a whole lot about it or ask questions, but they know.

DF: Have you ever been recognized by the public, on the street? What was that like?

Johnny:
All the time; it’s par for the course. It was odd at first and can sometimes be a little intrusive depending on the scene, but all in all, it’s part of the deal.

DF: What is the most fun you have ever had on a set and why?

Johnny:
Working with Zak Spears because he was a dream of mine and I find him to be absolutely physically perfect.

DF: Best sex ever was?

Johnny:
The best sex thus far has been with an ex of mine. He is 6’2 210 and built like a lumberjack. He threw me around and loved to get nailed!

DF: Weirdest sex ever?

Johnny:
None yet so far!

DF: What kind of character do you think it takes a person to be amazing in the porn world?

Johnny:
Grounded, goal-oriented, secure in self without being too absorbed.

DF: What made you decide to go this route in your life and for your career?

Johnny:
It fell into my lap. I thought it would be a one or two time thing that I could add to my list of experiences. It has proven to be very lucrative and is turning out to be a springboard for a lot of other creative outlets.

DF: Where did the name Johnny Hazzard come from?

Johnny:
Chi Chi came up with it after seeing that I was Italian and from Boston; she wanted something very “Italian, East coast sounding”

DF: Without mentioning names, have you ever worked with someone you don't like? How did you get around your dislike to continue working?

Johnny:
None that has led to a complete disaster, thank God, but there have been guys that have disappointed. What you see on TV or in pictures is usually different in varying degrees. You must learn to impart a give or take kind of attitude. Luckily they were hot and I have a good imagination.

DF: What is the biggest mistake you have ever made on set?

Johnny:
Being late.

DF: Do you see any important trends in the industry of porn?

Johnny:
I see that porn is not so taboo any more. It is being assimilated in the industry of entertainment as far as I’m concerned.

DF: What is it about the porn industry that you find least appealing?

Johnny:
My perspective on the industry is not typical. I hear horror stories all the time and have thankfully never encountered anything even remotely close to any of that. It sounds like a suck-up, but I wouldn’t trade what I have with Rascal for anything.

DF: If you could pick any male celebrity to make a movie with who would it be and why?

Johnny:
Richard Gere for sure. I have been told that I look a lot like him. I think it would be fun to play a younger him.

DF: Do you see changes happening in the GLBT community? For the better or worse?

Johnny:
As our community receives more attention and recognition, both positive and negative, it opens some doors and closes others. Being gay used to mean discarding all conventions because none of them applied to you and that isn’t true anymore. There’s a whole new generation of gay people out there that walked out of the closet because the door was thrown open by those that went before them. We aren’t confined to back alleys and adult bookstores now and that exposure has allowed the gay community to expand and sometimes even fracture. Our minority is unique in that it encompasses every other minority. I think we’ve made tremendous progress in the past thirty years and I’m confident that trend will continue as long as we all stick together.

DF: What are some of your favorite online sites?

Johnny:
Sean Cody and anything that looks amateur and filled with muscled guys.

DF: What's coming up that fans should be keeping an eye out for?

Johnny:
I have been working on developing a clothing line for a while now. It has been quite a bit of work; much more than I realized. I have finally come out with a T shirt line that I think is very reflective of my persona; tough with a soft side. They will be available through my site and hopefully in a couple retail stores somewhere sometime.

DF: What makes Johnny Hazzard click?
