Going Out: Cafe Flore

Sure there is that cafe by the same name in Paris. BUT, in my opinion, you can't possibly have a queer guide about going out without mentioning Café Flore in San Francisco. It sits in the heart of the Castro community and is a perfect spot for weekend brunch with friends (or guy watching). Better yet, its relaxed, the food is great, and they make a nice strong cup of coffee. I'll meet you there for spinach frittata, okay?

I love Cafe Flore. Although I do think it's odd that they pronounce it "floor" instead of "floor-eh".
Cafe Flore used to be great, until it was taken over a couple of years ago :( It's not odd that it's pronounced 'Floor'...there's is no 'acute' accent over the last 'e', so the 'e' is silent
Hm, weird. That actually looks nice. I might consider going. I've never been into the whole gay scene here in SF, but I sure would like to visit this place sometime.
I think Cafe Flore has a bit more Duboce triangle feel than Castro Central. I don't make a special trip of it, but offpeak times it makes a pleasant place to chitchat or meet up.
Haven't been to that cafe in years, but the Mariposa cafe ( a little hole in the wall Chinese
place off Third Street ) has the best roast pork
I have ever had. Very popular with men who like plenty of food, and they pile it on. You have to go there before lunch time to make sure you get the pork, 'cause it's so popular.
There's this little Filipino rest. at School street and Mission ( next to the Midas (?) Mufler lot in Daly City that has awesome
Filipino BBQ sticks and great Bisteak! Yummmmmmm!
