Erection '08: Sarah-brate Good Times, C'mon!

Clockwise left to right, the Sarah Palin action figure, models wearing the Sarah Palin wig, and a Photoshop fake of Sarah Palin showing her American pride.
Love her or hate her, it seems no one can stop talking about Republican Vice-Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin. Many were surprised by her sudden thrust into the national spotlight as McCain's VP pick— she's not your usual candidate—she's from the boonies in Alaska, hunts wolves from helicopters, eats mooseburgers, and is mired in celebrity scandal (from her pregnant and soon-to-be-wed teenage daughter to her myriad political shenanigans). Her recent prominence has made her ripe for imitation, from the action figures and Sarah Palin wigs being hawked online, to the myriad videos below poking fun at her.
1) INSULT THE COMIC DOG: Conan O'Brian's Triumph the Insult Comic Dog manages to give Mrs. Palin some love while covering the Republican National Convention. He also makes time to harass convention-goers, chat with Anderson Cooper, visit the Minneapolis restroom where Senator Larry Craig solicited gay sex, and MC an after-party—good times!
2) GINA GERSHON STRIPS DOWN SARAH PALIN: Actress and gay icon Gina Gershon plays Sarah Palin in this fake ad to respond to some of the recent allegations raised against her.
3) MOMMY AND ME HOME PREGNANCY TEST: Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect is not for the easily offended. He plays devil's advocate to any position, is a wicked satirist, and holds almost nothing sacred—it makes for good entertainment and incredibly candid political discourse. The above ad poking fun at Bristol Palin's pregnancy is no exception.
4) SARAH AND HILARY ON SNL: Palin-look-alike Tina Fey and Amy Poehler play Sarah and Hilary Clinton, respectively, in the opening skit of Saturday Night Live's latest season. It's true that Hilary and Sarah's campaigns are a milestone in the women's rights movement, but the two women apparently feel very different about their roles.

A fundamental load of shit - called Sarah P - will hit the american gays in their face, and she meant to.
Come on Stonewall girls, there is a job to do!
McCain-Palin '08!
Having a woman on the threshold of the White House will be a huge step for the US. And hopefully it will be a breath of fresh air not only for the Republican Party but for American politics in general.
OMG, why would you ever vote republican, thats a sin against your people, Sarah and her church hate us gays, idiots.

"OMG, why would you ever vote republican, thats a sin against your people, Sarah and her church hate us gays, idiots."
In case you missed it, most of the democrats feel the same way, check their voting record.
This election comes down to a choice between a socialist and socialist lite. Which is why I’ll be ‘wasting’ my vote on a third party. At least the libertarians believe in equality under the law.
J--let us know when a) the mother-ship lands b) your meds kick in c) you conquer whatever self-loathing is motivating you to support those who oppress you d) all of the above
thx
Matt, what are you talking about? Here in California, the community I'm in is normally either you're a republican, meaning you're conservative, meaning you're anti-gay, or you're a democrat, which means you're open minded. Sure, there are democrats who aren't pro-gay, but they're open minded to leaving the gays alone instead of protesting against them.
And that's besides the point. Even of some democrats have republican ideals, why would you even consider voting for the republicans?
As for libertarians, ha, no comment.
Palin = Nazi
Nazi = Palin
She's great :)
Blake:
It must be nice to live in a society that is so black and white. Here in the real world, read not California, things just are not like that. It is possible to be a fiscal conservative and a social ‘liberal.’
Let’s look back shall we? Over the last few years, the Democratic Party has had control of congress. This has been the lowest producing congressional session in decades. The Democratic Party is responsible for the ‘defense of marriage act’, as well as the ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ policy currently undermining our military by disallowing my community from serving in the armed forces. To say that Democrats are open-minded by ‘not protesting in the streets,’ is just ignorant and ignores the past. This is much akin to saying that it’s impossible to be a Christian and gay, simply because the loudest protests of our community come from the overzealous in the Christian community. Understand, I’m not saying that Republicans have a better record; I’m simply stating the facts.
In my America, every citizen would have equality under the law, period. The free market system would be allowed to thrive, and the government would not be an over bloated, hand holding entity – removing all need for personal responsibility. (California is a great example of a hand holding state, btw.)
Please don’t misunderstand; I think the current government needs an enema in the worst way. To quote a little remembered movie, politicians and diapers need to be changed often and for the same reason.
Basically what we have a choice over in this election is a social and fiscal Marxist (Obama), who touts change, but at the cost of personal freedoms and responsibility or a conservative (McCain) whose belief may not be totally in line with mine, but beats the hell out of the alternative (Socialism).
To judge the current political candidates based on those in their party who have served for the past few years, would leave us in the same spot we’ve been in for decades now, with a Democrat in as president and a Republican lead congress - both obstructed by the other, with little to nothing getting done in the end.
We can bitch and moan about politics or we can take a dynamic role is actually accelerating the change needed in our current government. It comes down to, know your history, or you are doomed to repeat it. The Democratic-Republican Party (yes, one party!) was formed in 1792 to oppose the policies of the Federalists. The D/R party promoted citizen and states’ rights and was the dominant party in the US for about 20 years, when it split into the two parties we know today. To vote along a party line, simply because of a perceived discrimination or lack of, is lazy and ignores the facts. To ignore the larger issues of personal freedoms and what is best for the country as a whole, because of a personal bias is, well… shellfish and juvenile.
I will not even address the whole Nazi comment you made, because it’s just ridiculous scare tactic, and I refuse to lower myself to that level.
This is an important election; there is no doubt of that. It could literally change the face of the American landscape. It is not one to be taken lightly, nor throw in to one party or the other based on a personal perceived ‘reality,’ without actually looking at the facts.
Speak true, spread love, make peace.
Aren't those "models wearing the Sarah Palin wig" really just pictures of Hollywood bombshell from the 60's and 70's , Raquel Welch?
C'mon guys, keep up...this is supposed to be a gay website! Lol =P
Nice job Matt. Finally someone responding to political discourse with substantive info and not blatant name calling. I find it funny that ultra liberals claim to be open-minding and the champion of change and yet all they do is name calling (i.e. the Nazi comments and the like). All I can say is grow up. I don't know if I am going to be voting Obama or McCain, but naming calling from either side and political pundits are not helping the decision.
I'd like to follow up on Brad's comment - that is Raquel Welch who did/does have a range of wigs....maybe Sarah Palin gets hers from there.....
