Thursday's Ditty: Sowing The Seeds of Love
For your Thursday ditty, here's Tears For Fears with "Sowing The Seeds of Love," a great socio-political song that also has a pretty tripped-out video. Do yourself a favor and give it a spin. I mean, just check out these lyrics:
Have you no idea how the majority feels
So without love and a promised land
We're fools to the rules of a government plan
Kick out the style, bring back the jam
Discrimination's the problem, love's the cure. Sow them seeds, bitches!

oh man, this brings back memories for me. I had the biggest crush on Curt Smith at the time. The weirdest things turned me on when I was a teenager, and one of them was a white undershirt. I know, I'm a weirdo, but when I saw Curt with his short hair and white undershirt, I think I went straight to the bathroom and didn't emerge for two days :)
We might find the rest of the lyrics worth checking out. And--inconveniently--discover that no part of it has anything to do with 'discrimination'.
Very very cool song, though, from a very very cool duo. They have several other songs with equally eloquent lyrics.
I had just returned to the U.S. when this song was breaking and thought it was a new Beatles tune. I still enjoy TFF a lot.
