Marcus Steele Replaces Jason Adonis In Jet Set Films
Barely two months after we celebrated his return to porn with a set of hunky gladiator pics, porn star Jason Adonis has reportedly suffered a mental breakdown due to the stress of performing in gay porn. As a result, he's backed out of his comeback films being shot by Jet Set's Chris Steele. Luckily, they kept Marcus Steele on standby to fill in for the notoriously flaky Adonis.
According to porn gossip columnist, Jason Curious, the director says Jason's exit has in no way stalled the production of both movies. "I had Marcus Steele cast in the role as a back up in case Jason's claims that he had changed and matured were not true which I kind of figured would be the case," Steele told me.
Adonis' reputation for flakiness was echoed by fellow porn columnist, JC Adams:
When I spoke to Mr. Adonis two weeks ago (see the link below) I teased him about his bad-boy rep and his penchant for leaving studios high and dry. He owned up to it and asked me to make sure I printed that he was doing his best to behave himself. And now this latest bout of flakiness.
Jason Adonis later sent Mr. Curious a follow up email addressed to his fans:
I would like to say goodbye and apologize to all my fans. I am done with the adult film business. This is not a retirement and I won't be back. This business has always been a horrible struggle for me. It just got to the point where the anxiety from having sex with guys on camera was too much. Not to mention I am now 29. I will be enjoying the life of being a regular guy with a regular job. I have picked up some new extreme sports that more than replace the thrill of the porn lifestyle. In addition, Jason Adonis reportedly called a third porn columnist, Mark Adams, with more info on his decision to leave gay porn:
I got a call from Adonis over the weekend, telling me that he has decided that his career in porn is over. Telling me that he's "too old" for porn (if he's old at 29, I shutter to think what I might be...), he said the parting of the ways with Jet Set was cordial (tho he didn't use that word), and he wanted to concentrate on his family (he was spending Father's Day with his daughter)... And as for a "cordial" departure from Jet Set, Chris Steele told me this morning, "I honestly do not know which one is a bigger jack ass, Jason Adonis or David Forest, all I know is I am filming "Carjackers" starring Jet Set Exclusive Marcus Steele this week."

Why would a man who doesn't enjoy (at least on some level) sex with men even get into gay porn in the first place? Is the money really that good?

I think whether you're gay or straight, you have to have a pretty thick skin to do porn. In general, porn stars are disrespected off the set because some people think that just because they've jerked off to them, that gives them the right to say or do anything to them. They are people first. Whether it be porn or main stream entertainment, being a "celebrity" is not for everyone. Obviously Jason falls into that category. I wish him luck.

jason is a hot guy in an industry with a million (in my opinion hotter) guys in line to take his place, guys that actually dig sucking cock and being filmed doing it. the fuss and the amount of press over him is way out of proportion to what he has contributed. that is no diss on the guy personally. but porn, and sex in general, are supposed to be hot and fun. if it isn't either of those things any more, then i wish him the best of luck in his next venture.
I don't know much about any of this or Jason Adonis, except that he is as hot and handsome in the QC pic as any guy. Seems like people are angry at him, maybe I missed the reason. So he wants to quit this career and move onto something else. What's wrong with that? If he made some negative statement about gay people, homosexuality, or being gay in any way by doing this, then I understand the anger. If not, then I wish him the best.
IMHO he had a 'breakdown' because his 'career' was forcing him to admit something that perhaps he's unable to accept: that he likes having sex with men.
Even if he has a wife and a child, he still is at the very least bisexual, and for some reason (religious pressure from family, etc.) he's choosing to try and play it straight. (Newflash to the clueless: Straight men cannot achieve erections and have sex with other men no more than gay men can get aroused eating pussy. Shudder!)
Give him a few years, and he'll be back. Maybe not in porn, but divorced, and living with a man.
