We’re very excited to bring you an interview with former Man of the Year finalist and all-around great guy, Scott Hunter. Though a relative newcomer, Scott has blown up in the past year. Despite his blossoming career though, Scott remains extraordinarily down to earth and engaged with his fans. He’s even been quite active in our comment sections. Scott remains sweet and charming as ever and we can’t wait to see what 2013 brings for this sexy guy.

QueerClickHey Scott, thanks so much for taking the time to talk with us! First of all, congratulations on your Man of the Year Nomination. How has 2013 been for you so far and what are you particularly excited about this year? Any New Year’s Resolutions?
Scott Hunter Well, 2013 has started off well. I’ve filmed three scenes already this year; one for Hard Brit Lads; one for Men.com (Men of UK) and I’ve just shot my first ever film for Lucas Entertainment too. It was a pretty scary event on many levels working for a new company as big as Lucas, creating a film which is the first film of its kind I’ve made (I can’t give you details but it’s a first for me on camera) and working with one of their exclusives. The pressure was on. I hope that it turns out to be a great film.I’m hoping 2013 will be seeing me develop my career and I’m hoping to go back to the US to shoot a number of films in a few weeks during March and April. That will be a big things for me because potentially, I will be working with more of the world’s largest companies. I have now worked for COLT, Lucas, and Titan. That’s something I never thought would happen, working for such massive US companies. Those films will either make or break me, hopefully, the former and I will have greater opportunities and see my career develop even further.. Who knows?!I want to really try hard this year to develop my physique more, I would really like to be a bit leaner, so you can see more definition. I feel like I’ve gone a bit ‘smooth’ recently, whilst I’m happier that I’ve managed to gain a bit of weight, its hard for a naturally slim, skinny guy to gain and hold onto weight. I want to try and stay heavier but get back some of my definition. I’m going back to abs class at my local gym, I’m really knuckling down and being strict with my diet and hopefully that will pay off. I’m doing it for myself, seeing what I can achieve with my body was amazing for me and I ultimately want to share that with the people who watch me. So, I don’t really ‘do’ resolutions, what I do are lifestyle changes. One things is for sure, whatever happens, I’m not changing my personality or who I am!

QueerClickWhen you got started modeling, did you ever imagine that your career would become as huge as it has?
Scott HunterTo be honest, this all kind of took off well without my knowing. A chain of events were put in motion when I left my previous job to start a new job with the police in IT. The day before I was due to start work, they wrote to me, rescinding the job offer due to the fact that I was wrongfully arrested over a decade ago. Having been told by Manchester Police that it would be expunged and I’d never need to mention it again, I went on to a fruitful career within Universities, Fire Service, and Probation Service, none of which were bothered, However, my local Police service decided that despite not committing any offense, they would revoke the offer for employment, leaving me desperate for money to pay the mortgage.I had been working really hard in the gym while all this was going on because my partner and I had another couple over who were so fit, they made me feel so inadequate that it gave me the motivation I needed to transform my body. As if I needed recognition, a guy on Facebook messaged me and asked if he could take my photos for an exhibition which I accepted and I was blown away with the transformation I had made.Bear in mind, at this point, I had no idea where to get he money to pay the mortgage so one of my friends said, jokingly, I should try porn. Expecting no kind of response, I applied to five companies with the photos I just had taken and each one of them accepted me. I was absolutely stunned. I had no idea at all that anyone would want to look at, let alone watch me!From that point on, more companies approached me and I continue to get interest from photographers and porn companies all around the world and I really cannot believe it’s happening.

QueerClickI know you hate the label “porn star,” but if our readers are any indication, people really can’t get enough of you. Has fame been a strange adjustment for you, or is “fame” something you try to avoid?
Scott HunterYou’re right, I hate being called a porn ‘star’, I’m a porn ‘actor’ and I am keen to correct people who call me a star. I don’t feel worthy of that title and I’m actually quite a shy guy. What’s more important to me is that I don’t become an arrogant wanker, for want of a better word. I find nothing less attractive than a guy who is good looking and knows it. I’ve met people in the industry who think they are god’s gift to men and women for that matter, who as soon as they’re termed a porn star think they can speak to people and treat people like crap and they turn into totally unattractive, self-centred, egotistical idiots. I will never let that happen to me and the term ‘star’ is a reminder to me that I do not and will not let myself change. I like the person I am and I am extremely humble, I’m totally aware that I am only where I am at the moment because people like your readers have chosen to support me. I’m no better than anyone else and to be honest, I look around and see other models and think, ‘my god, he’s stunning, why are people watching me?!.’
QueerClickWhat’s the weirdest thing that has happened to you as a result of your career?
Scott HunterTo be honest, the thing that I didn’t like happened fairly recently, on a night out with friends in Manchester. I was standing in a dark corner of a club, waiting with drinks while my friend went to the toilet or to get a drink. I was very well hidden yet an extremely outrageous, camp young lad approached me and asked me if I was Scott Hunter. I said ‘I might be,’ what happened then made me very uncomfortable. The guy started to touch my chest and stroke me (by the way, I was topless as I often am). I said, ‘Sorry, I’m taken’ and the lad said ‘Oh that’s OK, I’m sure he won’t mind if I have a feel.’ To which I thought to myself ‘He may not but I certainly do!’Just because someone sees you on the internet or on a DVD then sees you out in a club, am I wrong to feel that, that does not make me public property, you cant just grope me and make me feel cheap. I’m still my own person and I like to be able to go out and have a good time and generally, I do that without anyone noticing me or coming up to me but that night, his behaviour did bother me and I’d rather not have that happen again. I’m too nice to push someone away, I was polite and carried on talking to him until my friends came back when I made a hasty retreat.

QueerClickOn the subject of Twitter messages, what’s the nicest (or strangest) thing someone has ever messaged you on twitter
Scott HunterThat’s a tough one. OK, strange things are plenty, for instance, a totally random question the other day was ‘what socks are you wearing?’. How very random, I know a lot of people have a foot fetish so I just came out and told the guy. It doesn’t bother me.Nice message-wise, well, I actually get a few of those which is great. For example, since my Titan film (Nightfall) came out, I’ve had major porn ‘stars’ get in touch, the likes of Adam Killian messaged me, that blew me away, I talk regularly to Jesse Jackman and his partner Dirk Caber and Casey Williams, they’ve all been lovely and extremely supportive to me which is brilliant, totally surreal but brilliant.I had an amazingly lovely message from a TV Actress wishing me a happy Christmas, I follow her but she has tens of thousands of followers and it blew me away to get a message to me from her! I’ve even spoken to a TV presenter who I grew up watching in my early teens, over 300,000 followers and he was talking to me about the chocolate brownies I made! Most of the messages I get are lovely, I rarely get negative ones but each and every one gets my attention and a reply.
QueerClickWho has been your favorite model to work with so far and why? For that matter, have you worked with any particularly difficult/diva-sh scene partners?
Scott HunterNow, I’m always very discreet when people ask me this because I’ve been very fortunate to work with some of the worlds most famous porn actors and not after five years in the business, within weeks of starting, in fact, my first ever Men at Play scene was with Alex Marte, then I got flown to the US to work with COLT and Marc Dylan, the French stunner Issac Jones, then names carry on. Each one of them has been brilliant in their own way. Yes I have scenes which I think came out better than others but Ill keep those titles to myself, each one has been part of an extraordinary journey, one which I still don’t actually believe I’m undertaking.

QueerClickYou’ve been with the same partner for ten years now, right?
Scott HunterWrong, we’ve been together ten and a half years now.
QueerClick Whoops, my mistake! Congratulations, that’s a really awesome achievement. How does your partner feel about your career? Did your transition into the porn industry take any getting used to on his part?
Scott HunterJake, my partner has been amazing. During the first few weeks, he was a bit up-and-down about things, at one point, we didn’t speak for three days, that was hard on me, I missed him so much but we chatted and spoke about things like we usually do and we moved past it. When I flew to the US, it was the first time we had ever been apart from longer than one day. I was away from him for five days and it was awful, I missed him so much, I would cry leaving him video messages every day but when he texted me while I was working with COLT saying that he was proud of me, I couldn’t stop smiling. From that point on, he has been nothing but supportive of me. He understands that to me it is a job. OK, I get to have sex with some of the world’s hottest men but nevertheless, it’s a job. I have switch in my head that goes from ‘play’ to ‘work’. He still doesn’t like me going away but we have an understanding that I will keep weekend work to an absolute minimum and he understands that I need to sometimes work away. I will always do my best to be back home for when he gets home from work.
QueerClickThat’s unbelievably sweet, and quite romantic. What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
Scott HunterI don’t really know. I’m a pretty open book. Maybe people would be surprised to find out that I actually work three jobs. I’m not rich despite what people may think. I have my own PC support and web design business and I work in a coffee shop the rest of the week as well as promoting myself and doing whatever work I’m offered modelling just to make ends meet.I live on my credit card and unfortunately, my ideas of using money from porn to invest into my own business has never happened, it simply gets sent directly on my credit card to pay off some of the debt. I earn so little from my coffee shop job (which by the way, was all I could find after looking for six months, applying for over 200 jobs and having just two interviews) that I don’t even pay tax on my income.I am one of the only guys in the porn industry who does not do escorting work. I don’t know of another guys who doesn’t. A porn actor can expect to receive perhaps 3, 4, or 5 times as much as a regular escort and a lot of porn actors do porn just so they can justify higher prices for their escorting. So many do this, in fact, that I think the majority of viewers and the population assume this is the case and that is where the money comes from. I’m currently filming one or two scenes a month, that’s the only other source of income for me and it upsets me when people think that I’m rich or expect me to be. Would I be working three jobs, getting up at 4:00 in the morning and working a combination of those three jobs until about 21:00 at night if I didn’t have to?
QueerClickI have to say, the global economy being as messy as it is, I suspect that’s a story a lot of our readers can relate to (I certainly can). On a lighter note, what kind of music do you listen to? Guilty pleasures definitely encouraged.
Scott HunterEverything. I love classical and opera all the way to cheesy pop and house music. At the moment, I’m really into the whole European dance music thing we’ve got going on in the UK. There’s some incredibly catchy tunes at the moment. I don’t know what they mean and I can’t understand them, but I love dancing to them and listening to them. The only music I don’t really like is heavy metal sounding stuff, loud banging noises with no tune. I like to have something to sing to or a catchy rhythm to bounce to.
QueerClickDo you ever imagine yourself ever retiring from modeling, and what would you like to do if you did?
Scott HunterAbsolutely. People aren’t going to find me attractive forever, I’m full aware this is a finite career, as I said before, I never considered myself to be anything other than average, in fact, I thought I was an ugly duckling, so this has been a major hurdle to overcome psychologically. I’m very aware that it will end sooner or later but I will continue for as long as people want to see me.If it ended tomorrow, I don’t know what I would do. I guess I would take more hours at the coffee shop until I could come up with a better solution. Who knows?!

QueerClickWhen you were a kid, what was the strangest thing you wanted to be when you grew up?
Scott HunterI never really wanted to be anything strange. I always wanted to be a chef. I love cooking. Unfortunately now because of my extremely restrictive diet, I don’t get to create much. There’s only so many ways you can steam rice and cook dry chicken! I had a work placement in a restaurant as a teenager though which totally put me off catering and to this day, I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.
QueerClickI can certainly relate! What’s a day in the life of Scott Hunter like?
Scott HunterPretty normal and uneventful. On an average day, I will get up at 4:00 in the morning, shower, and cook the two meals I will need to eat during my shift at the coffee shop. Ill go and have my breakfast of porridge, an espresso, protein shake and orange juice and get dressed for work. Ill head to the gym where I park my car, walk the mile from the gym to work in time to greet the commuters and make their coffees and set their days off to a good start. I’ll work there until around 13:00 when I leave, walk back to the gym, grab my kit from the boot and head in and start training.I often catch up with emails and tweets, Facebook etc. while I’m doing cardio, I’m stuck in one place and it helps alleviate the monotony.I train six days a week so once I’ve finished with weights, Ill do my cardio, head home, eat again then Ill get straight on with more work. Just like today, I’ve eaten and I’m writing this interview for you guys. Ill get on with some web stuff and promotional stuff. That’s what I do until dinner. I eat, then head back up to my home office and do more of the same until either I finish of I decide I’ve had enough and then I’ll cuddle up with Jake for an hour and catch up on some of our TV shows and head to bed about 21:00 early to do it all again the next day.Told you…exciting!
QueerClickDo you have any pre- or post-scene rituals you like to do? Anything you do to “warm up” for a scene, so to speak?
Scott HunterWell, the day of a scene is a very long one for me and its pretty tough on my system. I’m fastidiously clean. I will get up at 4:00 to get to a 10:00 call time. I need to douche deep, I like to make sure I’m clean and nothing is going to be playing on my mind. It takes me about an hour to completely sort myself out, if you know what I mean. Before I do that I leave an hour for a small bowl of porridge. Once I’m done, I will get my stuff together and head off and for the rest of the day, there’s no food for me. I only allow myself jelly sweets, to keep my blood sugar levels up. Just before a scene I will have a quick rinse to make doubly sure I’m clean, I like to make sure the top doesn’t have anything to worry about. I would be devastated if anything happened while I was filming.Once I’ve finished, I will head straight home to Jake but I make sure I get some food into me and get the system going again but on a day where filming can run from 10:00-18:00, it’s a hell of a tough day for me. It’s not glamorous.
Thanks so much, Scott for sharing your story and and we look forward to seeing great things from you in the future!
