The world in general is devoted to a youth-obsessed culture, but no other part of society is so particular enthralled with the value of being young as the gay community. And the recent news that Stephen Fry was marrying someone who was 30 years his younger ignited the debate. Sugar daddies, gold diggers, toyboy lover, are some of the adjectives that pop up faster when a couple that has a significant age gap between them make their relationship public, scrutiny becomes scorn.
