QC Scandals: Nick Denton, Gawker Founder, Censors Post In An Attempt To Bury Story Of Conde Nast's CFO David Geithner And Gay Porn Star, And Part-Time Escort, Brodie Sinclair!

This scandal has so many angles (gay media moguls, money, sex solicitations, politics, escorts and censorship) that your head could easily end up spinning out of control, perhaps that’s what it makes it so juicy!

Nick Denton, founder of the Gawker network of blogs, and ex Fleshbot, got caught under fire after he exercised direct censorship over a post published on one his sites that revealed that Conde Nast’s CFO David Geithner, (a father of three, brother of former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and very good friend of Denton) was caught soliciting a gay escort. Allegedly, David Geithner tried to pay a then unnamed, gay porn star for sex, but backed out after it became clear the escort wanted to extort him. And here’s where it gets interesting for QC readers and porn fans. It was disclosed that the escort was a man named Lief Derek Truitt (we’re not outing anyone, as the name and porn connection has been made public in several sites) that according to the original Gawker post tried to pressure the executive into using his power and connections to help resolve a dispute with his landlord but when Geithner declined to aid him he turned to the media to make their sex solicitation public. Turns out that said escort has a familiar face, he is none other than Brodie Sinclair!

After the post became a topic of conversation given its scandalous nature, Denton, who the Advocate named one of the “25 Most Influential LGBT People in Media” gave the order of deleting the entry, enraging his staff of bloggers, as he broke the firewall that separates the business and journalistic sides of the company. Since then he has apologized for the act, but the post remains unpublished.

Several news outlets tried to contact “Brodie Sinclair” to get an statement on the story as he was the main source of the Gawker article but all they got was an incoherent string of conspiratorial blabbing and confusing sentences as the folks of Gotnews reported. It seems that Brodie, in addition of being an escort, a porn star, and an ex-marine, has dedicated his time to record baffling videos with crazy conspiracy theories that according to him, involve Obama, Vladimir Putin, the FBI and the 9/11 connections. Is he playing the crazy card or is he not the very well-adjusted person we thought he was? The Gawker scandal and the sex solicitations seem to be very real but his behaviour and the reports that this is all an elaborated hoax has left us scratching our heads! At least we have the memories of better times with Brodie’s porn past with Cockyboys! QC reader, what do you think of this scandal? Tell us in the comments!

Update: Do you guys remember when Brodie joined team QC? We almost renamed the site as “BrodieClick”!
