Morning Wood: A Recap Of Last Week's Tea; Troye Sivan's Boy Toy In His New Music Video, #DeleteYourAccount Featuring Logan Paul & Kevin Hart, Britney Spear's Ode To Her Debut Album

Wake up everyone with a Morning Wood where we get hard on last week’s happenings in the entertainment world. Let us recap what went down this past few days to get you hyped up for next week’s tea. Let us spill some right now.

It was Thursday when gay pop savior Troye Sivan dropped the visuals for his dreamy synth-pop creation “Lucky Strike” taken from his magnificent LP “Bloom“. The singer is known for the narrative of his music videos especially the ones that are notable for their sexy and yet heartwarming narratives. Directed by Emma Westenberg, this one is a laid-back, sunshine-coated 4-minute clip set on a beach starring him and this hottie named Brandon Good. Oh boy, even if we were Troye, we would have immediately fallen to this guy playing as the bartender in this sunny coastlines. Just look at his bad-boy appeal. Just makes you want to submit to all his desires.

Lucky-Strike

And that stare plus that can easily melt you.

Lucky-Strike

Not to mention his ripped muscles and a “jawline for days”, what more can you ask for?

Lucky-Strike

We just want to hit the beach right after watching this spectacle!

And for this week’s #DeleteYourAccount, couldn’t Logan Paul get more problematic? What do you think if Kevin Hart‘s take on these issues currently tainting his name?

Logan-Paul-Kevin-Hart

The Youtube star has since issued an apology (sort of) for his statement regarding a “New Years Resolution” to “go gay for a month” which was supposed to be a part of his “male-only March” which many especially the members of the LGBTQ+ community did not take lightly. Here’s what Logan Paul said:

LP

very poor choice of words… my fault. let’s get together and talk about it on my podcast next week?
It’s a response to a tweet by GLAAD, a non-government media monitoring organization, to slam his insensitive statement.

In the meantime, Kevin Heart has confirmed that he is not going to host the upcoming Oscars.

In a Good Morning America segment shown last Wednesday, the US comedian said:

I’m not hosting the Oscars this year. “Right now, from a time perspective, I don’t have the time. You’re talking about two weeks I’d have to prepare. I would like to call myself a perfectionist, so if I do something I want to give it my all.

And when Hart was asked regarding the controversy surrounding his past tweets involving some homophobic slurs he tweeted back from 2009 to 2012, he just insisted that he is done with it because it is “taking a lot of energy” from him. He reiterated he already had this addressed and apologized when he went to the Ellen DeGeneres show too.

Now it may really be unclear if all these pronouncements from him are enough but next time, let us just be mindful with what we are going to say (or tweet) because, in this ultra-sensitive era, you’ll never know what stuff people would be able to dig that could potentially ruin not just your career, but your reputation too.

To end this edition with a sweetener, pop princess and the ultimate gay icon Britney Spears relived her memory in making her debut album.

one-more-time

On January 12th, the iconic album that shaped the pop industry ever-since that is “…baby one more time” turned 20 years old. Hailed as the Best Selling Album by a Teenage Solo Artist, The Pop Queen herself took to Instagram and wrote a touching tribute to her debut album which made her rose to stardom and become one of the most influential artists in the world of music. Here’s what she said:

The album has produced some of the most memorable bops such as the title track itself, “Sometimes”, “(You Drive Me) Crazy”, etc. Now, let’s relive the magic and bring you back to your sassy childhood with this classic:

And this has been the rundown from the last week. What do you think of Troye’s boytoy in the “Lucky Strike” music video? How about this Logan Paul and Kevin Hart shenanigans? Is it time for Britney to give us new bops for the new year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
