Gay Walk?

Researchers at Northwestern University are studying whether the way you walk is an indication of your orientation. Student researcher David Sylva attaches bright red lights to various parts on people and videotapes them walking in the dark. He then shows the videos to others and asks them to guess the walker's sexual orientation. The factors of clothing, hairstyles, and facial expressions are removed from bias since the walkers appear in the dark.

they also mentioned that more gay men and women are left handed? is this true?, should i flirt with the next guy I see that writes with his left hand?
This is almost as dumb as Leslie Stahl gleefully pointing out, "Gay!" (Yippee!) on her stupid 60 minutes Can You Tell Who's Gay and Who's Straight, a.k.a. Let's Play Stereotypes!!!
Stupid, stupid, stupid. Undignified. And an embarrassment to 60-year-old white women everywhere, that was.
It exposed how bigoted and stereotyped and sorely lack-in-gay-friends-relatives-or-acquaintances some people are.
People have a right to do these studies. But we as a thinking society have a right to call them out on these as stereotyped bullsh*t that the media has been shoving down our throats ever since there were TV and movies that could stereotype us.
uh this is only a way to sterotype people, it is not accurate. trust me, there are lots of men that dont walk like a girl that like men, this is retarded.
Granted i have a strut.
But that's due to me having wide hips, so that's more to do with my body shape then my orientation
.. and just who's paying for all these lame-ass studies ? if they want to know if i'm gay, they'll have to ask me because my ring finger is longer, my hair whorls clock-wise, and my gait is a macho strut but, on the 0-6 kinsey scale, i'm a seven.. not a str8 bone in my body. oh lord, now they'll want to study bones for clues !
no one seems to consider cultural effects in any of these studies. Surely, the homosexual men and women of African tribes, or rural Chinese farmers do not exhibit the 'face' or 'gait' of a gay man or woman. I think all these findings about gay identifying behavior is an indication that people who are born with a same-sex attraction tend to develop the 'norm' set of behaviors of other gays and lesbians in their culture. Even unobserved behaviors can be reinforced by parents taking dolls away from boys and forcing tomboys to wear a dress to sunday school. such lessons teach the child that these behaviors are subversive and as such become part of an overall cultural set of behaviors for gay men and women. my 2 cents.
I had the gay man and straight women correct. Guess I'm not too good in the 'butch' department.
I think I love you El Polacko. ;)
When I was 8, my babysitter's mom told me 'If she had a swing like mine, she would put it on her back porch'......So yes, I believe you can often guess someone's orientation by their walk.
