and now here we're pretty much told we're meant to all magically just understand and agree upon the *wink* *wink* nature of this use and marketing of the word "straight" and agree that the fluidity of *wink* "straight" *wink* is common sense.

question is, why are the editors seemingly so quick to defend this marketing ploy rather than showing any kind of understanding how the "straight" ploy might be tiresome, offensive and homophobic to many, many, many readers???

EDITOR: But it is common sense. *wink* As consumers who're bombarded by thousands of advertising messages from the moment we wake up, we should be pros at filtering out marketing language by now. Like it or not, there will always be gays who're positioned as straight, and the other way around. (What exactly does "gay for pay" make one?) As well as "miracle" drugs which may at best be working due to placebo effects, before and after photographs that are airbrushed to no end.

However, that is not to say that we throw out the need for responsible advertising. Which is why we have consumers who police content, provide discourse, and air their opinions. The studios do read our comments board, so keep your feedback coming - be it a positioning issue, lack of variety, poor quality of videos... - if the voice is loud enough, they will hear you, and make necessary changes, if they want to win the consumer dollar.

i think its fun to have fantasies! does anyone really believe that all models on gay sites are straight, of course not! are we offended? not me! but then again if you dont like something here there is enough variety to move onto something that tickles your fancy isnt there? to me porn has a lot of fantasy built into it, be it the scenario, situation, location, role play or whatever. sure if you just want a gay model to be gay then thats fine but some of us have a broader spectrum or particular taste (fetish if you want to call it that) and dont be too quick in ruling out that there are plenty of gay men who enjoy the "straight" fantasy (emphasis is on the word fantasy), yes it true we really aren't that gullible but we do like our porn and our fantasies, even if its a gay guy in the guise of acting straight or his first fuck or BJ. now thats porn for you! its certainly nothing to get worked up about is it? especially if you're a porn fan i think you will notice that a few of the models on str8men have and are appearing on other sites which have men on men action! lols! personally as a reader of QC for a couple of years now i see this "debate" rage from time to time, and i doubt it will ever end - its quite boring in fact, same old same old and there cant really ever be a conclusion to this as it is still a fantasy that gay men want. i guess if there was enough outrage against this or no one liked the site then no one would become a member, end of story. i think the best comment i saw here this week was on another thread which ultimately said, "look this is a porn blog, we come here for hot men, end of story, if we want to discuss politics then we would be somewhere else" (or words to that effect) and i thought yeah hes got a point, there are loads of websites to discuss any topic in the world - and the reality is that we come here to get off, to see smut and jo to it, great point i thought! (cant remember the exact wording or post but i think it was the post on thor and everyone was discussing his apolecia).
