Somewhere there must be company records of the complaint. If anyone can access that then the name of the person who complained should be posted on the web. If this person is indignant enough to demand that someone be fired, then he is indignant enough to defend in public how he managed to be familiar enough with a gay porn star to recognize him by sight. Failing that, the name of the manager can probably be obtained and posted.

Thats ridiculous. I have worked in management and I know that if someone asked a manager to fire an employee the manager would under no circumstance do it. There definitely has to be an underlying issue here. And wtf was he doing working at Subway?

Definitely Subway has crossed the line. Kurt hasn't done anything illegal and they should make it up to him. Surely they have very good lawyers and they must have advised that any complain from Kurt would be cheap compared to the bad publicity ("bad" according to the more conservative customer base).

Poor management skills. Never fire anyone under outside pressure. Apparently, that store manager would be okay with someone writing to corporate or the regional manager and demanding he be terminated. Also, the complainer outed himself when he demanded Kurt's firing. He would have to do the same with everyone he asks to join him in his boycott. They would all ask the same thing as me: "If you enjoyed his porn work enough to recognize him, why do you want him fired?"
Finally, why is a father of three working at a fucking Subway? I could understand it if Kurt was the manager. It's kinda sad.

There so much we don't know about here. I think there's more to it but I also cannot forget that Subways is kind of a bad company to work for or support. That's not even getting into the fact that the food is pretty much all disgusting in so many of the stores. It does well because it's quick fast and cheap and people are getting what they pay for in this case.

This situation could be based on a number of variables people are simply ignoring. The man who recognized Kurt could actually be truly straight. We don't know how he came to recognize him. We also don't know how the two interacted, if at all. Did the man make a pass at Kurt? We also don't know the complaining party's motives. Was it a health issue, or something more insidious?

What part did the manager have to play in this? This could be a Law & Order episode if a dead body shows up with all the random variables and detective work needed...

What's wrong with working at Subway? It's probably the way he got into porn in the first place: rent's due and getting fucked pays 2 weeks wages. I would venture that many of our favorite porn stars got into it because of easy money or a money pinch.

I'm just bummed with Subway for thinking that what an employee does with his meat during his off-time affects their sandwich line. After all, isn't Jared gay? I don't know what state Kurt lives in, but the law is on the employees' side when it comes to firing. If he did the rest of his job well and wasn't insubordinate, he should get a lawyer. At least it would be worth some "go away" money from a big conglomerate like Subway. I'm sure they don't want any publicity concerning this matter

Kurt doesn't hide his real name. He has posted it on his blog and on facebook. He also apparently doesn't hide that he does porn. He has also posted that the people back home in his small town in Missouri know about his work.

Gee, I wonder if Subway can legitimately claim they were worried about some sort of customer backlash, or maybe made fun of, given that you've just gone and photoshopped hardcore pornography all over their trademarks. Way to support Kurt's case there..

And I'm supposed to care because?

1. He wasn't discriminated against - as he doesn't consider himself gay and is married. Father of three, right?

2. Lawsuits cost money - something he is desperate for, so why bother suing for a minimum wage job.

3. Subway isn't the only chain he could work at. Go work at a competitor. Getting a job at those places are easy - I can't tell you how many places I've seen have help wanted signs were I go to get a meal.

I know Kurt personally and he is a sweet guy. His passion is his kids and seeing that they are taken care of.

Just when you think the States are no longer in the Dark Ages, a story like this appears.

I've eaten at plenty of Subway shops and the people have always been clean, helpful and great servers.

Who cares what a person does in their off work hour time.
I think we'd be all surprised if everyone's off work hour time was highlighted. In this case, Kurt's life was just more public than others. It made him an easier target.

At the same time, there appears to be more to this story than meets the eye. A further investigation should be warranted.

For all those guys who wish they were "in porn" because they'd make millions of dollars, I hope this wakes them up. If this adult performer makes so much money doing the in and out on camera, why is he working a sub-standard job at Subway?

As a producer of adult videos, it's really annoying trying to sift through applicants who want "Fifty Thousand a year" to get their rocks off.

Ain't gonna happen, guys. Frankly, as a newcomer to the industry you'll be working for wages about equal to a week of part-time work at Subway. We hear about the super-stars of porn getting a couple thousand dollars for an afternoon of their time, but they make-up less than one percent of the guys who are trying to get into adult work... and are furious that they are offered only a couple hundred bucks for a day of their time.

That's reality.

As for Subway firing the guy... he needs to sue them. Problem is, most companies have you sign an agreement that you will not engage in any activity that will cause the company embarassment or public humiliation, or which is generally considered "of questional moral values" and "against community standards", and I'd say from the closeted geek who griped about Kurt Wild making a sandwich for him, that community has standards where a Saint would be of questionable morel character.

As for asking the Gay Community to boycott Subway... You ever notice how many Gay guys WORK there? "I work at Subway" is as much a Gay cliche as "I'm learning to become a hairdresser".

I just feel so sorry that this poor father of 3 was working for minimum wage at a fast food place... There has to be something out there better for him / his family than subway.
