It has also been criticized by the film trade journal Hollywood Reporter as a low-budget “gaysploitation” films, evidence of gay media’s infancy which willingly latches onto stereotypical camp and old formulas instead of creating original classics. Others have hailed it as a very funny comedy that explodes those stereotypes and seeks nothing more than laughter.
You can decide for yourself. But no matter which camp you’re in, there’s certainly enough comedy and eye-candy to sweeten even the most bitter viewer. The film opens August 29th in New York at Quad Cinema, in Los Angeles at Laemmle Sunset 5, and (of course) in Ft. Lauderdale at Gateway Cinemas.
