QueerClick Gallery Resur(e)rected!

YEP! IT’S BACK. =)
It’s been eons, and we thank you for your continued patience during its absence, but the wildly popular QueerClick Gallery is finally brought back to life, with a brand new look and photo additions!
A little tidbit for you, in hopes that you’ll forgive us for taking this long – The reason QCG took forever was because our previous webhost and “trusty” server maintenance guy took hostage of our server, basically held the site and all the contents ransom when we decided to migrate to better servers and manage the servers in-house. In fear of losing his contract with us, he reduced himself into an extortionist. He locked us outta our own servers, deviously claimed ownership of our domain, and naively thought we’d cave in to his demands.
NO WAY! We DO NOT negotiate with cyber terrorists.
After crying buckets of tears, we decided to start afresh. Yep, from scratch, at a new location. We couldn’t help but feel immense pain when we thought of all the images (and data which included the votes, user comments, user accounts) we’d lost, plus the domain which was rightfully ours. =(
The server migration affected the entire network, and you’d agree that priority should be awarded to the main and sub blogs of QC, Sticky, QCam, etc. Our goal was to keep QC going, amidst the mammoth reconstruction in the background, and to make migration as seamless as possible. If you couldn’t tell shit hit the fan for us, then I guess we did good. Haha.
So there. It took very long, but we made it. =)
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the QCG Task Force who worked very hard on the project.
Jo – What would we do without you? Thanks for your talents (you’re the perfect cross-breed of a coder and designer which is a rarity) and for putting up with the countless demands and changes.
Editor A – What would I do without my left hand? Thanks for braving through this challenging period, for taking care of the servers, and setting up a much better infrastructure for the entire network. Most importantly, for making me believe we could make it through this when I had serious doubts and fears and felt utterly victimised.
Timski – Thanks for being the best curator and cheerleader. And for keeping your composure when being told we’d lose everything, all your work over the years… down the drain. Hey, in fact, I think you turned around and consoled me instead! {{{HUGS}}}
And of course puppy licks to the rest of Team QC, for holding the fort together. Best team on Planet Unicorn (Heyyyy)!
Guess I’ll wrap up here so you folks can get on with enjoying the gallery! Thanks for indulging me in my river of thoughts. This is just a really special day for us. =)
Make sure you grab your free login because we’ll be limiting registrations for the new gallery. We’ll be adding more great photos at a fast and furious rate henceforth, so remember to check back regularly for new additions.
