Gaelic football star Cathal McCarron has released a book called “Out of Control” to tell how his appearances in several gay-for-pay productions unfolded. The 28yo who made the newspapers headlines when his story broke is in the process of recovering from his chronic gambling addiction and he feels that this memoir is another step towards healing.

“I had sold my body. I had blackened my soul. All for just two days gambling.”

Back in 2014 McCarron had accumulated a £200,000 debt and thought that going into porn was an easy way out. Cathal was told that initially he would be paid £200 to be filmed urinating but when he received a £3,000 offer for a full sex scene he couldn’t resist. Under the name of “Fergus” he performed several acts on camera for TheCastingRoom including bottoming and swallowing cum from his partner. In the autobiography the football professional went on detail to describe the feelings he experienced while doing porn. “When the filming was over I felt physically sick, disgusted that I had allowed myself to sink into such an abyss of degradation and humiliation.” To make things worse instead of using the money to pay some of his debts McCarron continued gambling. He revealed “As soon as I was handed a brown envelope with £3,000, that feeling began to dissipate. I walked across the road into a betting office and gambled away half of my earnings.”

Since then the Irishman seems to have reorganized his life and entered rehab even returning to the sport. Although he stresses that he’s straight, he says that he has a new-found respect for the LGBT community because they showed him support during his ordeal. Cathal even says that some men considered him a “kind of gay icon.” We’re not sure about his icon status (was his gay porn track record that legendary?) but we’re definitely happy that he at least found some peace with his past.
