Feelin’ Good Party at MOS Singapore Cancelled

Feelin’ Good Party at MOS Singapore Cancelled
Feelin’ Good, a party organised by gay and lesbian media and events company Fridae, has been cancelled after the venue, Ministry of Sound, received a telephone call from local police on Friday evening demanding that they cease venue provision for the event, failing which enforcement officers would come to the club on Sunday to shut the party down. The reason given by the police to Mr. Lee over the telephone was that the party would “promote gay activities.” More.

BryanBoy

Bryan Boy
This is BryanBoy – Materialistic. Shallow. Superficial.
BryanBoy keeps an ab fab blog which originally started as a mini travel journal for his chums (and frenemies!) back in October 2004. Since then, it’s metamorphed into one giganormous narcissistic shrine dedicated to his glorious, pretentious, third-world, nouveaux-riche, parrot self (we’re just quoting him and not being mean, ok?).
An advocate for excess (check out his endless parade of Vuittons, Diors, and Fuccis), Bryan champions debauchery and hedonism. If Paris Hilton was Asian and twinky, he’d be BryanBoy.
BryanBoy also runs InsideMyHandbag.com – a site he started ‘cos one’s handbag can tell more about a person than any mum can!
Tell Bryan you love him. Baboosh!
p/s: Bobby Trendy, be afraid. Be very afraid.
(Thanks T!)

Queer Candy – Edison Chen

Queer Candy - Edison Chen
In our recent post of Maggie Q and Andy Roddick, many of you weren’t acquainted with Hong Kong starlet Edison Chen who was also seen at the event. So we’ve decided to put together a little something for you today!
Edison Chen (陳冠希; pronounced in Madarin: Chén Gūanxī ; Cantonese: Chan Kwoon Hei) (born October 7, 1980 in Vancouver, Canada) is a popular Hong Kong teen idol. He was an artist of the Emperor Entertainment Group (contract ended in year 2005). Chen is of Chinese descent on both sides but his father also has ¼ Portuguese ancestry, that makes his father Macanese.
Born in Vancouver, Canada, Edison has starred in many films including Infernal Affairs II and Twins Effect. He also sings Cantopop and can speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Japanese. However, as with many foreign-born Chinese, Edison does not have a perfect command of Cantonese or Mandarin. He is idolized for his “cool” attitude and his good looks, though critics cite him as conceited.
Many consider Edison Chen to be the first pop singer who brought hip-hop culture to the Hong Kong music industry. Edison Chen recently starred in a film by Jiang Hu in which his character had to rape a dog as punishment. The scene was actually cut to remove his naked butt!

Queer Candy – Eiji Wentz

Eiji Wentz
One half of Japanese pop duo WaT, Eiji Wentz (born 8 october 1985 in Tokyo), started his modelling career at a tender age of 4! He also played the little teacup “Chip” in the musical “Beauty and the Beast”. Signed under Universal Japan, WaT became the first artistes to appear on Kouhaku Utagassen after a debut of less than 2 months.
The Eurasian (Daddy’s American) with a winning smile can be seen on many Japanese drama series such as the recent 輪舞曲 (Rondo), movies, magazine and some commercials.
WaT Official Website.

Here’s a very enjoyable clip of Eiji being subjected to some terrifying “bug clamp” treatment on some variety programme. The poor guy was woken up and so stunned by everything that was taking place and was reduced to tears!! But it’s so funny at the same time. The prized moment has to be at the very end where he had to sing his debut single and being nipple teased at the same time. He’s such a doll!
(Thanks Kenta!)

WaT in Onsen

This goes out to Ken, for working so hard on the site. Enjoy!
The two boys – Eiji Wentz and Teppei Koike – are from the latest boys duo in Japan called WaT (pronounced “Wa-to”).

Here’s a little promo clip of WaT’s debut single ‘Boku no Kimochi”.

And here’s their performance at the year-end Kouhaku Utagassen. Watch out for a lil “accident” in the middle of their performance. Cute as a button. Two buttons, actually.

Finally, here’s a CM for their just-released album.
(Thanks Kenta!)

Mo(re)ichido 平井堅 Ken Hirai

Seeing that our lil post on Ken Hirai went down pretty well with y’all, here are two more music videos which are very different in style and treatment.

“Strawberry Sex” – Fruity Yum!

“瞳をとじて” (Hitomi O Tojite). Ken’s 20th single was also a HUGE hit in Japan. Both written and composed by Ken himself this moving song served as the theme track of tear-jerker movie based on best-selling novel “世界の中心で、愛をさけぶ” (Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu).
Here are the original lyrics followed by the romanised version for your reading and karaoke-ing pleasure:

あの日 見せた泣き顔
涙照らす夕陽 肩のぬくもり
消し去ろうと願う度(タビ)に
心が 体が 君を覚えている
Your love forever
I wish forever
Your love forever
Asa mezameru tabi ni
Kimi no nukegara ga yoko ni iru

Queer Candy – Ken Hirai

Queer Candy - Ken Hirai
As one of Japan’s best-selling and most popular male singers, Ken Hirai’s sexuality has long been of interest for many. Speculations can finally be laid to rest as the singer has finally come out recently.
The R&B King (January 17, 1972) was born in Osaka prefecture, and grew up in Nabari, Mie Prefecture. Contrary to popular belief, Ken is a full-blooded Japanese, though some think otherwise due to his appearance. His soulful voice, piercing falsettos and unconventional looks had won his fans’ hearts when he made his debut back in the 1990s. Some musical artists whom he respects are Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye etc.
In 2003, Ken performed for MTV Unplugged Live in New York, as the 1st Japanese male solo vocalist. Also, he was interviewed by CNN “THE MUSIC ROOM”, which was televised in 210 countries, and watched by 230 million viewers.
His latest album “UTABAKA : 10 Years : The Singles Collection 1995 – 2005” is Japan’s best selling album last year.
Here’s his latest music video “Pop Star” which is dripping with wholesome gayness! Enjoy!
