Zamzar

Zamzar
Need to convert those Flash video (flv) files you’ve managed to download off XYZTubes into a format of your choice, say MP4, so you can play them on your iPod (handy when you need a JO break at work)?
Zamzar is a free online file conversion tool, launched last week. it allows users to upload a file and have it converted into a number of formats.
Other common uses for Zamzar include converting PDF documents to Word, iTunes AAC files to MP3. Up to five files can be converted simultaneously. The process takes a few minutes – Zamzar emails a link to the converted file when it is done. What about DRM’d files you ask. WE WISH! Doesn’t convert. Maximum file size is 100 MB, but there are no limits on the number of files converted.
It helps to be a lil more tech saavy to enjoy porn these days. We’ll keep you guys posted when we come across more of such tools.

Pharma Company Gives $200,000 To Gay Help Line

Johnson & Johnson
(San Francisco, California) Giant pharmaceutical company Johnson and Johnson has given the GLBT National Help Center $200,000, the largest donation in the organization’s ten year history. The Help Center provides two national phone line systems – one for LGBT adults, the other for teens – were people can get peer counseling and advice. It also helps local gay crisis centers across the country.
The J&J donation was made through its K-Y brand division and will be given over a three year period. The money will be used specifically for special projects that are designed to help more people learn about the organization’s services, to grow its resource database and to enhance the community’s ability to contact the Help Center, said Brad Becker, executive director of the GLBT National Help Center. “This gift from K-Y. brand along with the continuing support from individual donors will enable us to better meet the increasing demands for our services,” said Becker. Including the donation, K-Y also will run advertising for the organization and promotional events in various markets across the country.
“Despite greater gay visibility in today’s society, many men and women still do not have a safe place where they can ask questions and talk openly about the issues they are dealing with,” said Becker. “In fact, the number of calls to the Help Center’s hotlines has grown each year. For this reason I can’t overstate the positive impact this donation will have on our organization moving forward.”

Lance Armstrong & Matthew McConaughey: We’re Not Gay…*In Bed*

PEOPLE.COM
Lance Armstrong and Matthew McConaughey are laughing off questions about their sexuality and rumors that they’re anything more than just pals.
“We tried it. Wasn’t for us,” McConaughey jokes to Details magazine in a new interview that addresses rumors about them – and pal Jake Gyllenhaal – being gay.
Armstrong says his newly-close relationship with McConaughey grew out of the fact that they were both suddenly single at the same time. McConaughey had broken up with actress Penelope Cruz and Armstrong had called off his engagement to singer Sheryl Crow.
“Our friendship just kind of developed,” the cycling champ tells the magazine for its November issue. “He got out of a relationship; I’d just gotten out of a relationship.”
Armstrong, who has known McConaughey for eight years, stresses that despite the raised-eyebrows they’ve gotten due to photos of them – often shirtless – biking, running and partying together, they are just buddies.
“I think people see pictures and they think we’re these overgrown frat guys, but we all have those kinds of relationships – and relationship isn’t a bad word,” says Armstrong. “I mean, we all have buds, we all take guy trips, but you take something very normal and you put it in a magazine, and people start talking. ”
He goes on to say, “It’s like, either you sleep with anything that moves or you’re gay. They can’t figure it out.”
McConaughey goes further to defend their relationship saying, “A lot of people don’t understand friendship and brotherhood. I have a great friend in him. I’d do anything he asked me to, even though he’d probably never ask me to, and he feels the same way. It’s fun going out and living life and doing things at the drop of a hat. LiveStrong just happens to be the most deliberate guy I’ve ever met.”
Armstrong, 35, calls McConaughey, 36, the “Redneck Buddha,” and says the actor’s laid back style has been a good influence on him – especially when it comes to gossip. “His idea is like, ‘Look, it is what it is, so go out there and have fun.’ He’s truly carefree – which is to say, he truly doesn’t care.”
The seven time Tour de France winner also admits in the interview that he hasn’t quite yet recovered from his split from Crow, especially the public’s reaction. “We couldn’t get it right, we couldn’t get it wrong,” he says. “Just a lot of back-and-forth. But we had a love for each other, and I think we still do.”

Personally, I don’t care whether they are or are not. I think they are cute and that is enough for me. I have never got much satisfaction out of WITCH HUNTS/GAY HUNTS or pointing fingers at people… Unless they OUT themselves or decide to engage in gay porn, then I don’t get the big deal of accusing them.

Domestic violence reports drop for gays. Since When?

domestic violence
Below you will find a recent article posted by SFGate.com and it bothered me. Not only is it inaccurate and completely misleading, but just plain irritating. For one, more women (lesbian’s) are victims and perpetrators of Domestic Violence in the GLBT Community than any other. Secondly, using data based in half on a phone line is ANYTHING but accurate. Thirdly, using the phrase, “Who identify” is bogus. Anyone who believes that ONLY 366 incidents of Domestic Violence within the GLBT community (in San Fran) happened in 2005 needs a serious reality check. “The decrease in incidents is due to normal fluctuations in reporting…” So in other words, this is completely skewed and isn’t accurate! That is like saying the rise in electricity bills during December is normal due to Christmas lights…Well, no shit.
www.SFGATE.com
Reports of domestic violence in San Francisco’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community decreased in 2005, according to a survey released Monday by Community United Against Violence. The organization documented 366 domestic violence incidents in 2005, down from 416 the year before. The majority of the 2005 reports, 261, came from people who identify as lesbian or gay, and more men reported being victims than did women.
The instances of verbal, physical and emotional abuse came from people who called a crisis phone line or sought help from Community United Against Violence or the Asian Women’s Shelter.
The decrease in incidents is due to normal fluctuations in reporting, said Shawna Virago, director of the domestic violence survivor program at Community United Against Violence.
The organization provides counseling, restraining order assistance and vouchers for temporary housing to victims of domestic violence. The phone number of the group’s 24-hour crisis line is (415) 333-4357.

The First Ever Gay Bloggies!!

The First Ever Gay Bloggies by QueerClick!!
We’ve been teasing you guys whilst prepping ourselves for the big do.
QueerClick turns two (yep, we can finally walk!) this October and we’ve been thinking of a way to celebrate our big day. Should we all have a late summer vacation (but who is going to update QC and feed all our Royal Horninesses)? How about a BBQ (but we just had one last week and those love handles have just got to go!)…
Enter Gay Bloggies — the gayest blogging competition in the world.
Inspired by the mainstream and very successful Bloggies: Weblog Awards, we’ve decided to come up with one specifically for the Gay community! Well, we’re very straight friendly, but time for us to take centre-browser we say! (If you’re straight and really want to give it a go, the Gay Friendy Award may be of interest.)
We intend to make this a yearly affair henceforth, where we have good, clean fun and reward the very best in our blogosphere. What better way is there to celebrate QueerClick’s birthday?
There are some VERY ATTRACTIVE PRIZES to be won and QC will like to send a MASSIVE HAIRY MUSCLEY THANK YOU to our lovely Sponsors (all 32 of them!) who responded readily to our call to be part of this exciting event! You should get giddy just by looking at the many memberships you can win!
All 25 Award Winners will walk away with various site memberships and other prizes like apparel vouchers, QC Tees, videos, etc…
the BIGGIE which is the lucky Weblog of the Year Award Winner will walk away with:
1) US$1000 cash prize
2) A print advertising spot on JUB Magazine
3) 500,000 banner impressions on QueerClick.com
4) A custom-made “Cool As Click” QC Tee with your URL printed
5) A cock-quivering hamper of Memberships enough to last you through four seasons!! (We’re talking about year-long memberships from many of these sponsors
If you’ve enjoyed a particular blog, this is the best time to express your support by nominating them. 5 lucky voters will also walk away with attractive prizes. So no one’s left out! They win, you win! More details of prizes shall be announced.
You can feed on the nitty gritties (rules, regs and procedure) on the Gay Bloggies or dive straight into the action at the Nomination page. You DO NOT need to fill in all categories. Just nominate whoever you have in mind for any specific category. Feel free to nominate yourself! Don’t be shy. Nomination closes on the 20th October. Our panel of judges will then comb through all nominations for the Top 5 contenders for each Category before opening it up for public voting at a later date.
Let the Gay Bloggies Nominations Begin!
