QCA Film: Save Me

In his upcoming film, Save Me, director Robert Cary examines a hot-button socio-political issue, where homosexuality meets Christianity.
After a long binge of hard drugs and risky sex, Mark (Chad Allen) gets placed into Genesis House, a Christian retreat dedicated to rescuing young homosexuals from their inner demons. There, the middle-aged, "ex-gay" director, Gayle (Judith Light), assigns Mark to Scott (Robert Gant, Ben from Showtime's Queer As Folk) —one of the program's advanced "fifth phasers." When Gayle notices Mark and Scott's relationship intensifying, she fights back, threatening the stability of her retreat and the potential salvation of the men in her care.
The film opens on September 5 in New York.

I'm not really into dramas but this looks like a great film! Will definitely try to catch it.
I was invited to a preview screening and want to say that this film departs from the "norm" of gay religious films. It is about men in an ex-gay ministry. They have well drawn personalities and the people running the facility seem honestly caring and sincere. It's nice to see the story presented with understanding on both sides of the issue, instead of the expected nutcase holy rollers and faultless gay boy.
Judith Light seems a little nutty, until you find out all of her issues (which really make her character sympathetic and understandable). Chad Allen really delivers a low-key, engaging performance (and he has a great body).
WOW... about damn time.
Ive been waiting for this movie since I saw the trailer when it was on the festival circuit, I am so glad it is coming to NYC and you better believe i will be there on opening night.
Sorry, but ex-gay therapy lies are so 20 years ago for me, both christian and secular. But for the new generation, it's important for them to know the perils that some preach.
The trailer showed too much. I cut off 2/3rds in. But I love Robert Gant, and I love Judith Light... although I can't remember where I remember her from right now.
