QC Open Forum: Have Beards Jumped The Shark?
Are you a beard lover? We’re not sure how this news is going to affect you but just in time for the summer there’s a new trend taking off. The Merman Style seems poised to be the point of no return for the beards trend we have seen over the past few years that reached out-of-control proportions, see James Jamesson for a perfect example of this.
A few days ago the Telegraph declared that beards are dead. We are certainly more cautious, and we could say that news of their passing have been greatly exaggerated. If girls can have some fun with the grannie hair trend and all those bright colours why not men? And why being limited to just the facial hair, why not dying pubic hair too? (If you are planning to give it a try, be careful just make sure the dye is ammonia-free otherwise you could burn the sensitive skin of the area.) We suspect it’s only a matter of time before we get to see a pink or blue crotch in a porn scene, or better yet, a rainbow-themed one like our current logo!
These colorful gentlemen, or mermen because dyeing their hair and beards in bright shades of blue, green and purple allegedly is a nod to the “mysterious creatures of the deep” hence the name of the trend, are going to attract some negative comments, but why not give them a pass, it’s not like they are going stay like that forever, after all, isn’t that the point of fashion trends?
