Ever wondered what the best way is to thank your support staff? Well, if you’re Jake Genesis, it looks like the best way to show gratitude is to give your PA a lap dance. I’m joining the chorus of voices lamenting former Man of the Year contender Mick Lovell’s impending retirement from porn. Incidentally, super-serious-model Mick uses a different twitter account than porn star Mick and has changed his last name to Phillips. Recently, fellow porn bloggers over at The Sword picked a fight with Bel Ami, accusing the studio of racism. The wonderfully titled “Bel Ami Tries To Appease Racist Bel Ami Members Who Hate Black People By Reminding Them That Austin Merrick Isn’t Actually A ‘Full’ Black Person” ran last week and held up the screen description as evidence, which reads, “For those who criticize [Bel Ami founder George Duroy] for featuring non-white models, Austin is mulatto.”
A PR disaster, right? It gets better.
In quick response, Bel Ami has claimed that the description was a misprint and intended to read “only white models” instead of “non-white models.” Read Bel Ami’s complete response here. So, just to be clear here, is no one going to talk about Bel Ami’s use of the word “mulatto?” We’re all just going to let that window into 19th century racism slide? Alright, nothing to see here. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, etc. etc. Incidentally, the scene in question is extremely hot.
