-Became the youngest man to win the overall World Cup title in 2002 at age 19.

-Was all-state receiver at Loveland High School, where his team won the Colorado state championship his senior year; caught 48 passes for 1,116 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2000.
-A speedster on foot (as well as skis), he was a three-year high school letter winner in track and a member of the state champion 800-meter relay team his junior year.
