[UPDATED] A New Porn Juggernaut Has Been Born? TitanMen and Kristen Bjorn To Form A “Content Alliance”
It’s not every day you read a headline like this. Two of the most recognizable names in the porn industry have announced a “content alliance”, but what will this mean for fans of these beloved porn houses?
A staple name practically since its beginnings TitanMen is probably best known for featuring scorching hot men with incredible physiques, huge cocks and abundant hairy chests. Arguably a very west coast approach when selecting their models, probably influenced by the city of San Francisco where the company is based, TitanMen characterizes for their firm adherence to a condom-only politic when it comes to filming their scenes. On the other hand there’s KristenBjorn, the brainchild of a British former gay porn film actor turned director who traveled the world before establishing his Barcelona-based European porn studio. He not only features amazingly muscled models in visually stunning settings but he has also developed a style in filming group scenes that is instantly recognizable everywhere. KB has been one of the pioneers in bareback porn for many years.
In their jointed announcement, they make clear the two iconic brands will remain separate but they will start featuring each other’s content on a biweekly basis in their respective sites starting next Monday! From the statement we get that not everything in the libraries will be automatically available for members of each site but KB will be sharing “hand-picked” assortment of TitanMen’s scenes to their subscribers and specifies that the alliance kicks off in KristenBjorn.com with a scene between TitanMen Exclusive George Ce and Felix Barca and TitanMen members will get to see the part one of “First Time” with Jake Genesis and Mike Colucci on their site. Beyond the PR and corporate lingo in the press release we feel there’s more than a distribution deal here and we are loving these collaborative energies spreading in porn.
Without a doubt this opens a very interesting door, and as porn industry observers we wonder how this strategic alliance will impact the landscape. Porn has a whole has been struggling with piracy but at the same time has never been so popular and seeing two giants, with very different approaches and styles, bring their positions closer poses many questions that we’re sure will be addressed in the near future. QC. Hey guys, First of all congratulations on the news. We have a few questions about the “content alliance” between your companies and we’d like to share your comments with our readers.
Titan+KristenBjorn: Thanks for reaching out, and thanks for the coverage on your site. Very much appreciated!
– Will you guys plan take the collaboration further in the future than mere distribution and sharing content to their respective pools of members? Will we be seeing crossover of models in joint releases?
We have no such plans at this time.
– We are loving the collaborative energies witnessed in the industry lately. How did this arrangement come about?
We both already have a content sharing deal with Falcon / Raging Stallion. I think that Chris Ward mentioned that to Keith Webb, and the the proposal to strike a similar deal between Titan and Kristen Bjorn came about.
– Both houses cater very different tastes, how would you predict this alliance will impact your respective fan bases and members?
We both chose 50 hand picked scenes that we each thought would please members of our own respective site. Each exchange scene will be released bi weekly on both sites over the the next 3 years. I should mention that the scenes exchanged are with with condoms only.
– We, at QC, think this could re-shape the porn industry landscape, do you think other studios will follow your lead?
It’s impossible to guess what other studios will do in the future. I have no idea.
– From an artistic point of view, (photography, editing, direction choices) do you think both companies can influence each other and bring their established styles closer?
Titanmen has several different styles because their films are directed by several different directors. At KristenBjorn.com we also have a couple of different directors, and a couple of different styles of films. I don’t think that this collaboration will cause a change of each other’s styles; we are already well aquainted with one another’s films. It’s nice to be able to offer something new and different to website members. What is important is that both studios strive to create very high quality films, which is something that has become increasing rare in the gay porn industry. (Emphasis on their part.)
So there you have it QC readers, there’s no merger it truly is a collaboration in the distribution front for both companies or as they put it “nothing more than affection and respect for each other’s content.” It’s very interesting to note that the scenes they plan to exchange in both sites are condom-only, surely a decision made based on Titan’s known policy on the subject.
