Lance Hart Raised Some Issues The Porn Industry Are Facing In the Middle of Pandemic.
The porn star brought up some talking points about the nature of his work and COVID-19‘s impact to the industry in a series of tweets.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a lot of job loss globally. Even the fancy but chaotic world of entertainment wasn’t able to escape the distress. However, the predestined reopening of the adult showbiz industry has led the adult film star Lance Hart to express his concern. Look:
I got asked to go to a shoot next week by a few companies today. Please think it through. The media is hungry for a new COVID story and βPorn Spreading Diseaseβ would get more clicks now than ever.
Lawmakers will follow for easy votes.
Please donβt fuck us all over.

In a recent tweet he posted, Hart is bothered by the fact that it’s just a matter of time before some media outlets start to correlate the spread of COVID-19 cases to the continuation of porn production because it can “make a good story” and be an effective clickbait.
The tweet also got some of his followers asking if porn production is going to reopen soon.
No I donβt think porn is in an official stage, but because we are stigmatized already as disease spreaders (before COVID) we have to be in, or after the very last stage. Otherwise someone will be made an example of and it wonβt be good.

He’s also responded to questions concerning the future of porn and all other sex works while there is still no vaccine for the virus:
We are working on that everyday. So far there are some COVID tests available but without knowing the incubation period (how long a test is good for) they arenβt worth much.

good question! COVID doesn't work that way. You can contract it 1 minute after getting tested. You could also contract HIV right after a test, but HIV takes 14 days to incubate, so you couldn't give it to anyone for 14 days. We don't know the deal with COVID yet.

Fellow porn actor Pierce Paris also gave his opinion and thinks that it’s too soon to resume porn production:
A family member of mine is an ER doctor here in LA. He says they have been getting a ton of new cases in the ER and stay at home orders in LA just got extended for 3 more months.
Now is definitely not the time for studios to cut corners and be desperate— Pierce Paris (@PierceParisXXX) May 13, 2020
It is clear that Lance wants the studios to think it through so that sex workers can get all the protection they need before even begin working. The vilification of sex work is rampant and the last thing sex workers need is to be blamed upon something they didn’t really cause.
