This casting of Carl Ascher is an “experiment” by Jeff Daniels (some of you remember Jeff). Jeff thought that BelAmi’s casting format was staid and boring. The result is that you get to judge today not only newcomer Carl, but also the ingenuity and creativity of the cameraman!
