次にどうなるのか分からないまま。
結局、目は覚めなかった！

どうやら現実のようだ、しかし悪夢の現実だ！
デビッドは再び目を開けた。
エイリアン達はデビッドの反応がある一線を越えてしまったことを理解して、その肉体をおもちゃにすることを止めた。

奴らはデビッドにやってみろと示した。
触ると開き、もう一度触ると閉じた。
従者達は去り、リーダーだけがデビッドと残った。
デビッドはじっくりとそいつを見て、目立つ特徴がないか探ろうとしたが結局分からなかった。
そのエイリアンはデビッドの上にのしかかってきて6個の目で下の方を見下ろした。

もう一度くり返す。

しかしそこは寒くはなく、眠気がデビッドを襲ってきた。
デビッドが最後に考えたことは、次に目覚めたときこの夢が終わっていたらどんなに嬉しいだろう、ということだった。
