QCharts 2012

Dear Unicorns,
It’s the time of the year again when I arm myself with a glass of red vino and a box of Kleenex (note: for the sole purpose of drying my tears), pull up my arm chair, dim the lights and pen the year-end editor’s note. The boys have internally been coining it the “State of the Union Address”. Which is quite apt really. Cos I usually am reduced to a “State of the Onion” by the end, balling my eyes out.
I love year ends. It’s the time of the year when you take an honest look at your report card, and get all gooey mushy inside. Or, you can experience a total freakout-slash-panic-attack on the other spectrum.
What do you think of on the last day of the year, dear readers?

For me, I look back at our achievements – goals which had been set at the beginning of the year which we then relentlessly pursued for the next twelve months, as well as some surprises which were never expected which made the year even more beautiful.
As a 2012 round-up, we decided a couple of weeks ago to compile some vital stats across the QC network. You see, site stats are like private parts. You don’t flash them any ol’ how to the world. Not unless you’re BIG, HAVE GIRTH, and NICELY LANDSCAPED.
Thankfully, our private parts are all of the above… and a whole load more. LOL. *Raise glass, chink chink*
We got Jo (our resident graphics unicorn) to graze the numbers, digest them, and rework everything into delectable info-graphics. When I first saw the numbers, my heart pounded. I mean, HOLY COW – we really worked our butts off in 2012!! A total of 57,438 posts network wide. That’s a crazy-nutter 157 posts a day. We’ll leave you to paw over the charts and other impressive numbers. But if numbers are not your cuppa tea, just know this – that’s HECKAVU LOT OF GOOD KARMA we have created in a year.
Which brings me to TEAM QC – my pride and joy. My proudest achievement remains the loyal, long-serving, and close-knit brain trust of the most talented and dedicated team we have behind the pixels and bytes you see. I’m terribly excited at our latest addition to the QC Family – Will (who was a long-time reader himself). I hope you find yourself comfortably at home on Planet Unicorn over the last few weeks. To fun times ahead! *Raise glass, wink wink*
To my most beloved team – DGJKLMRSSTW (an initial for each of you, identify yourselves!) – thanks for the stellar work you do everyday. Watching teamwork at play (especially when one of us takes a hit is a guilty pleasure and privilege). You make smut fun and sexy! Much love to y’all.
Much as we take stock of the past and memories, it’s perhaps even more important that we look forward. And boy do we have big plans for 2013.
Without giving away too much, I’ll mention a couple of the bigger ticket items on our menu. You can expect a major revamp for both QueerClick and Sticky. We’ll also be launching a proper newsletter, something we’ve been holding back for the longest time. And then there’s …. and there’s also …. hahaha. So much to do… we better get cracking soon as we put the champagne glasses down.
Last but not least, as always, to our dearest readers. Thanks for your support throughout 2012. So many of you found us 8 years ago and are still reading us daily. Without you, QC will not be what it is today. True loyalty is earned, not bought. It’s because of you that we want to do good meaningful work. Not just when we feel like it. But every single day. We dedicate our waking hours to cranking out the hottest posts so you can do a different kind of cranking!
On this spanking new day of a new year, we hereby pledge our continued dedication to being the most stylish kids on the blog.
Cheers to a great 2013 ahead of us. I wish you abundant wealth (so you can buy more smut and support the gay porn industry in order for them to produce more good stuff), happiness (so we can all stay gay), and great health (the basis to a good sex life).
