QC Open Forum: Are You In An Open Relationship?

Relationships are kinda complicated but what happens when you and your partner decide to add an extra layer of complexity to the mix? Benefits are quite obvious at first but we are complex human beings and our feelings and desires can mutate when exposed to the infinite temptations that you can find out there. Conner Habib in his role of “sexpert” has some interesting advices for people who are looking to expand their list of sexual partners while still being attached to a sentimental partner.

“One of the prices of being in an open relationship is being sort of
vigilant with your own thoughts and feelings.” Conner Habib

Some say that there are three types of relationships in the gay world: “The ones that don’t work out and break up, the lucky ones who find their soul-mate and whom they are happy with for life, and finally… The ones who realise that monogamy is realistically long gone and that it is time to introduce others into their personal life.” Do you agree with that statement? Does the idea of sharing your partner turns you on? Interestingly, the topic was explored in the gay-themed comedy Eating Out 5: The Open Weekend and despite of what you may think about the quality of the script it does portray well the tidal of emotions that one half of a couple could experiment when they are not 100% committed to the idea of openness and the not so tacit agreement goes out of control. So as we try to figure out our ways in life and navigate the treacherous waters of interpersonal relationships let’s have a mature and honest talk about it! We ask you QC reader, are you in an open relationship? Join the conversation and share your story or anecdotes in the comments!

“Your partner can be your romantic pimp in a sense.”
