QC reader and fan Christian was an assistant when this comercial was made for the Norwegian Gay Youth Phone and he would like to share it with all QC readers.
This is a beautiful clip of a gay teen boy doing the unthinkable…it’s a Norwegian public service announcement for gay teens made using using goverment sponsored money, and has been aired on the major Norwegian TV stations, at NO cost to the Youth Phone. It’s still aired a couple of times a year during the hollidays; Christmas day etc.
The texts in this video translates as follows:
Du trenger ikke være så tøff
“You don’t need to be so tough”
Homofiles ungdomstelefon
“Gay Youth Phone”
Vi vil gjerne svare
“We will answer (your call) with pleasure”
(Thanks Christian!)

I have done so with each as a “My Take On It.” Gay-Marriage Opponent Wants Judge Ousted
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A state lawmaker Tuesday called for a Baltimore judge to be impeached for a ruling in favor of gay couples.
“The public trust has been violated,” said Republican Delegate Don Dwyer. “It is our duty, our obligation and our responsibility to hold the court accountable.”
Baltimore Circuit Court Judge M. Brooke Murdock ruled last month that a law banning same-sex marriages is unconstitutional, although she stayed the decision while an appeals court considers the case.
Dwyer’s impeachment resolution was sent to committee with no debate. Dwyer previously sponsored a failed proposal to change the state constitution to ban gay marriage. The legislature hasn’t impeached a judge in more than 100 years.
My Take on it: Wow, and now we are impeaching judges because we don’t agree with their rulings? This is a disgusting attempt at prejudice and will not happen.
Prison over African “gay slur”
A newspaper editor in Cameroon has been jailed, after he published a list of politicians and celebrities that he believed to be gay.
My take on it: I appreciate the fact that this “journalist” who did not follow ethics and used libelous sensationalism to further his personal interest is being punished.
ASU begins gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender ally program
A new group on campus, Appalachian Allies, encourages awareness of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues, such as “coming out.”
The program, initiated by Appalachian State University’s GLBT task force, is kicking off its first semester.
Appalachian Allies promotes “ a visible network of people passionate about GLBT acceptance and rights,” said Laura A. Bethune, a senior management major and GLBT task force member.
My Take on it: Applauds. I appreciate every campus that takes up helping the GLBT community.
Chancellor Denton named GLBT Educator of the Year
Chancellor Denice D. Denton received the 2006 Educator Award from the National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals (NOGLSTP).
My Take on it: I said it once, I’ll say it again: Teaching is a passion for changing the hearts, minds and souls of our youth. Greatness comes within, not in the packaging.
Ex-soldier who’s gay to discuss Army life
A gay ex-soldier from Tucson who left the Army after a fellow soldier assaulted him is not going away quietly.
“We’re losing good soldiers because of this stupid policy,” said Lawson, who was training to become a military intelligence specialist at the fort, 75 miles southeast of Tucson. He was honorably discharged in January at his own request, saying he feared for his safety after the assault.
My Take on it: Amen brother, stand up, shout it out and be heard. Change starts from those who refuse to be put in the corner with tape on their mouth. Fear is not standing up for what is right. Courage is the ability to speak the truth.
Thanks to bikers
I think the city of Lincoln should tip its hat to the 100-plus bikers who showed up at Saturday’s memorial for 1st Lt. Garrison Avery and give them a public thank-you.
God bless these men and women who took time out of their weekend to come stand in the cold to provide a shield from the sickening display from Fred Phelps’ small group of cowards. The attempts to promote hatred, intolerance and violence toward homosexuals in the name of their “God” are vile and disgusting.
My Take on it: I refuse to call him Rev. So, False-Prophet Phelps may scream and wave hate, but he is bring every community together that he touches. Communities stand together, GLBT and Hetero, to shut down the hate Phelps’ demons spew from their hearts of darkness.

Clint Eastwood’s son is alleged to have had a gay affair.
New York estate agent Sam Kelley has claimed he enjoyed an intimate affair with musician Kyle Eastwood during Kyle’s 14-year marriage to model Laura Gomez.
My Take on it: Bitter Ex “Table for one.”
Ban on Gay Pride Parade in Moscow Threatens All Human Rights — HR Group
By banning a gay pride parade in Moscow, city mayor is threatening civilian freedoms and a civilian society, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said in a letter to Yuri Luzhkov Monday, and called on Moscow authorities to allow the parade.
My take on it: Oppression seems to be the word of the day with this particular instance. I think the International HR Org’s need to get on this and apply some serious pressure.
Catholic Church and Gay Adoptions
The state’s Catholic bishops are trying to get an exemption to anti-discrimination laws, but Governor Mitt Romney has said he would not grant the church an exemption.
My Take on it: I think this particular group has no stance and are hypocrites. I don’t think they will succeed and frankly as a Christian I don’t give a shit about, “a serious breach between the lay board and the archdiocese.” I think that’s secular jargon for prejudice.
Group push for gay emergency pack?
A gay council group in West Hollywood is suggesting an lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender specific emergency pack in the event of a terrorist attack or natural disaster.
My Take on it: I think this is a ridiculous idea. We constantly scream about not being treated fairly and now they want a “pack” that is separatist?
Rallying for Their Rights: Teens denounce proposed gay-club ban.
They meet in secret after dinner at Wasatch Academy.
At the private boarding high school about a two-hour drive south of Salt Lake City, students are not allowed to publicly organize gay-straight clubs. But each week, some 15 students gather to discuss issues, such as state legislation to eliminate groups like theirs.
My Take on it: Congrats to all the youth who defend their freedoms. Stand up, be counted, be heard and let it be known you will not cower in the corner known as suppression.
Gay adoption gets a glance from leaders. State revisits 3-decade ban.
A three-decade ban on gay adoption, a conservative bulwark that sets Florida apart from all other states, crumbled ever so slightly Monday when a Republican committee chairman signaled his willingness to reconsider the policy.
Rep. Bill
My Take on it: Amen, it’s about time they recognize that we are not to be used as foster parents and then told we are not good enough to adopt! Keep shouting, we are being heard.
Transgender teacher gets OK from New Jersey school board.
To students at Eagleswood Elementary School in Eagleswood Township, N.J., she used to be Mr. McBeth. Now, after undergoing a sex change, 71-year-old Lily McBeth is ready to return to teaching as Miss McBeth.
My Take on it: The reach for change is taking hold. Greatness doesn’t depend on the package, greatness comes within. Teachers touch the lives, minds and hearts of children and what makes a teacher great is their passion to make a difference.
United Against Hate.
When Fred Phelps showed up in Fort Campbell, Ky., to blame the gays for Iraq War casualties, the region’s gay community found instant solidarity among Army wives and soldiers.
Even Melynda Bosch, who had said she’d comply with official demands to “stand down,” stood up in support of her husband. I realized then that the Westboro Baptist Church had done far more for gay rights in one week than I could have in years. When someone sees such naked hate and realizes that it reflects a part of their own heart, they’re faced with the possibility that maybe, just maybe, gay people are God’s people too.
The Westboro group came and went within 10 minutes. They’ll be forgotten within weeks. But those of us who stood together in the face of such hate and bigotry will never forget that day.
Thanks, Fred.
My Take on it: This story made my cup runneth over. Amazing how hate can bring everyone together. For those who thought giving attention to Fred Phelps and his pickets was a bad idea, read this story. The idiot is cutting off his own nose to spite his own ugly-distorted face of hate.
I would also like to give this link for other GLBT Christians or religious folk in our community. I found this read compelling. THE LOOKING GLASS

Update on last month’s Fort Bragg investigation of seven paratroopers’ inappropriate conduct that appear tied to Dink Flamingo’s Active Duty which showcases real military men.
The Army has charged seven paratroopers from the celebrated 82nd Airborne Division with engaging in sex acts in video shown on a Web site, authorities said Friday.
Three of the soldiers face courts-martial on charges of sodomy, pandering and engaging in sex acts for money, according to a statement released by the military. The three soldiers who face courts-martial are: Spc. Richard T. Ashley, Pfc. Wesley K. Mitten and Pvt. Kagen B. Mullen. The Army did not release their ages or hometowns, but said all seven paratroopers were members of the 2nd Battalion of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
The Army has recommended that all be discharged.
Four other soldiers received what the military calls nonjudicial punishments. These four were not identified. Their punishments included reduction to the rank of private, 45 days of restriction to the unit area, 45 days of extra duty and forfeiture of a month’s pay.

TUESDAY, Feb. 21 (HealthDay News) — New research adds a twist to the debate on the origins of sexual orientation, suggesting that the genetics of mothers of multiple gay sons act differently than those of other women.
My Take on it: I think more study needs to be done to be conclusive. I am not fond of small study. I think larger studies bring forth more conclusive evidence. I personally believe GLBT traits are genetic and hope advanced studies will prove that.
SIMPSON FOLLOWED ‘DUMB’ SCRIPT
JESSICA SIMPSON is furious her reality show NEWLYWEDS: NICK AND JESSICA left her with a ‘dumb blonde’ image – because she was only following a script.
My take on it: Jessica, maybe it was a “dumb” move to agree to follow a “script of sorts” that would forever label you as a “dumb blonde?” I don’t see you playing many intelligent roles as your Pizza Hut Pop-ables commercial is straight from the minds of Einstein.
Gay themes emerge in country music
NASHVILLE, TENN. — Never mind that country music is considered bedrock conservative, the unofficial red-state soundtrack. This year, some of country’s most famous names are singing in movies with gay and transsexual themes.
My Take on it: Amen! Hollywood is taking notice and it is about time for celebrity singers to do the same. I applaud all of the work being done to help advance the beauty in the GLBT Community.
Study: Gay Men Love Their Penises
A study has been released by researchers at Holland’s Utrecht University that suggests a gay man’s penis is key to his self-esteem, and most often his favorite body part.
My Take on it: Well, no shit. Did it really take a study?
Summit Tackles Anti-Gay Bullying In Iowa Schools
(Des Moines, Iowa) Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack and LGBT civil rights advocates Tuesday brought together more 500 people from 75 cities across the state to tackle homophobic bullying in schools.
My Take on it: I tend to agree that I do not see the need for an extra policy for GLBT students IF the policy is banning ALL forms of bullying. The only difference I could see in the benefit would be like a hate crimes bill in which the bill adds the proper incentive for authorities (in this case administrators) to punish the bullies with more aggression.
Activists see gay adoption as next battleground
Efforts to ban gays and lesbians from adopting children are emerging across the USA as a second front in the culture wars that began during the 2004 elections over same-sex marriage.
Florida has banned all gays and lesbians from adopting since 1977, although they can be foster parents. State court challenges and a campaign by entertainer Rosie O’Donnell to overturn the law have failed. A pending bill would allow judges to grant exceptions.
My Take on it: I am all for legislation that will provide more children with homes and a parent(s). I personally am tired of the GLBT community being good enough for fostering the children, but not good enough to adopt them. The system is using our community and then saying we aren’t good enough and that is not ok. I would rally behind any legislation that would look at adoptive parent(s) for who they are and what they can provide long term for a child as opposed to who the parent chooses to love.
Ministers vying to become second openly gay Episopal bishop
The openly gay dean of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle is among five finalists, including another openly gay candidate, for the position of bishop of the diocese of California. If elected, the Very Reverend Robert Taylor would become the second out bishop in the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion to which it belongs. Another finalist, the Reverend Bonnie Perry, rector of All Saints’ Church in Chicago, is an out lesbian.
My Take on it: Praise Be!! Keep reaching and believing and we will prevail.
Boy George ridicules gay marriage
Former Culture Club front man Boy George has slammed same-sex ‘weddings’, insisting marriage is outdated and has no place in modern or gay culture.
My Take on it: Boy George ridicules gay marriage? Kind of an oxymoron isn’t it? I wonder if he was on Coke when he was asked?
