QC Arts: Is Colby Keller’s Project “CK Does America” Artsy Enough For You?

Probably the last time that a porn-related project really excited us was The Black Spark. It is not quite there yet, but what fan-favourite Colby Keller is doing with his indie project “Colby Does America” is getting pretty interesting with each installment. CK has made no secret that fucking on camera for big studios is not his primary objective, he’s interested in writing and art in general so he embarked on a trip across the country, after giving away all his possessions, to produce art and fuck men along the way.

“There are fifty fucking states. I don’t need to make a video on every single state. Like, I can make a video on every state, it doesn’t have to be actual porn on every state. The thing is that I have to do sex because that’s my job. So it’s more about like me having to do sex than it is about sex. Does that make sense?”

Surprisingly, he found some trouble finding dudes to get laid on the road, but otherwise he’s going strong and so far he has produced nine videos that you can see on his site for free but he’s accepting donations to keep the project going. Good photography, unusual editing paired with nice music choices the images show glimpses of his trip, the surroundings, his occasional partners – including an inflatable lobster during the trip in Maine – and Colby’s naked body, oh and cum lots of cum. We are not art critics but we want to know what QC readers think about this kind of hybrid niche product. Is it fap material or something worth of being exhibited at a gallery?
