QC Interview: Adam Champ

QC Interview: Adam Champ 1
Translated from QCEspañol
There’s no denying that the members of Team Orange have some of the best jobs in the world. Apart from seeing porn videos and photos throughout each day, 365 days a year, there are times that we have the chance to chat with some porn stars as well. Some time ago we contacted the Argentinean porno star Adam Champ, a Colt exclusive, for an exclusive QueerClick interview. Apart from all the stunning physicality that we know so well, Adam’s also a smart guy and very romantic. What wouldn’t we give to spend a night in bed with Adam and his partner Carlo Masi…
How did you get into porn? Describe your first scene and what you felt while recording.
For a little over 3 years, the recruiter at Colt Studios sent me an e-mail inviting me to join the big family of Colt icons. Back then I lived in NYC, but I rejected the proposal because I had no interest in doing porn. I moved to Mexico City and they contacted me again. I denied their proposal again until they finally convinced me.
My first scene was very funny, I thought it would only be the other model, the director, cameraman, and myself. But once on set, they had more than 20 people. I felt a little scared, but I had no shame. It was all very natural and super fast. It was for the movie Waterbucks 2, on a pool deck during the month of July in Sacramento. It was very hot and nowhere was comfortable. I remember, I almost raped my scene partner and the director John Rutherford asked me more than once, “Wait, you haven’t done porn before? Because it’s really easy to work with you.”

Of your films, which is your favorite?
I like them all, but Naked Muscles, The New Breed—the scene from 2 years ago with Carlo Masi, my boyfriend—occupies a huge place in my heart since we started our relationship the day before we began shooting, which a lot of people were against.
When do you think you’ll leave porn?
While I have no definite idea, I think I’ll stay close to the adult entertainment world in one form or another. In fact, I have several projects but I’d rather keep them secret for now.
How did you meet Carlo Massi, your current partner? Have you done any scenes with him? How do you handle jealousy in your relationship?
I met Carlo during the shooting of my first scene, the connection we made during our first meeting made quite an impact. We had lots of contact, but both knew that it was impossible to keep a relationship until, after a lot of time thinking and talking via MSN, we decided to have sex first and then be together. I implied that Carlo should move to San Francisco with me.
We made the motorcycle scene for the film Naked Muscles, and we accompany each other on photo shoots, but not when we have to shoot a scene with another model.
With respect to jealousy, we’re deeply jealous and possessive of each other. It’s an issue that takes time to process. but we’ve talked about it and agree that we shouldn’t be jealous while filming a movie.
Do you have any sexual fetishes or fantasies? What’s an ideal night of sex like for you? (with one guys, lots of guys, place, etc…)
I really like to look at myself when having sex and also on film. I like to have many mirrors in the room to see all angles of the action.

A night on the beach would be ideal, having wine or champagne with Carlo, looking over the sea and the stars, making love again and again. In fact, we’ve already done this, but I’d love to repeat it.
Is there anything you wouldn’t do in bed or on stage?
I don’t like group sex scenes, they’ve never really interested me. Not even being around a group scene.
What other porn stars (past or present) would you like to make a scene with?
Hmmm… this question caused some shouting from Carlo. Tom Katt seems impressive as well as Caesar. Also, I really admire Franco Corelli.

QC Interview: Adam Champ with Carlo Masi
Just curious … Do porn actors masturbate? How often?
Of course we do. Sexuality and genitals are important to all humans. Porn stars are human and therefore we masturbate the same way and as often as regular people. In my case, I don’t masturbate as much because I’m partnered. I don’t need to masturbate, but I’d need to if I was single.
What attracts you most in a guy?
Physically, the ass and then the eyes. Mentally, we should be able to speak at least 30 minutes consistently.
What do you find unattractive in a man?
It bothers me when guys are divas with lots of attitude. I also dislike guys with faces full of silicone. A man should be masculine and natural.
Do you have any toys near your bed?
No. Actually, I’ve got one between my legs and that’s enough.
What is your daily routine?
I get up quite late, after breakfast—oatmeal and egg whites— I go to the gym where I stay for about 1 hour. Then I come back home for a chicken and rice lunch. Then depending, I usually need to complete some tasks related to family or friends. Then, I return to eat more chicken and then later even more chicken. The evening’s when I sit at my computer, answer all my e-mails, and organize the work that we do throughout the year. We usually tour either Europe or South America, the work involves no so much me as my management company.
I’m not much of a beauty expert, but it’s generally important for me to get 10 hours of sleep and drink plenty of water.
Got any tips on how to improve sex life for QC readers?
I think that we should never leave the field with any unfulfilled sexual desires. It’s good to meet all our fantasies to the extent that they’re always safe and without risks.

We know you’ve traveled internationally. Is there any difference between gay people of different nationalities, or are they nearly all the same? What country has the hottest men and why?
There’s so many differences between cultures. There are countries that are hotter and colder. There are places where people are more hardcore and others where they’re softer. There are places where we’re more concealed or closeted and others where we’re completely open.
Mexico’s a country where, despite the high degree of homophobia, people are super friendly and sometimes even shameless—without fear of standing in the street and saying nice or highly sexual things. The most handsome men undoubtedly are in Spain, France, and Argentina of course.
In your blog, you talked about your trip to Mexico … you had a great time, but were exhausted. What do you believe is the most difficult part of a porn star’s life? What’s the best thing about being a porn star? Is there a point where the work gets boring?
It’s very difficult to maintain the image presented in photographs and films. People tend to idealize and idolize you and sometimes it’s is hard maintaining your physical self-image.
The best is undoubtedly that you know people want you and you’re in the corner of their fantasies. That eagerness to meet and collect your photos or movies, and turn you into a diva is an inexplicable thing.
It can be overwhelming as any work, but I haven’t found it so heavy as to not make it worthwhile. Actually, as with all things, I’m willing to face up to a challenge.
You posted some videos of presentations and gym workouts on YouTube. Many folks have started to the same thing from home as well, and some have even begun to make amateur porn. What do you think about amateur porn sites? Are they a threat to major studios? What positive aspects of amateur porn do you think large studios should use in their own productions?
I don’t think amateur porn sites are a threat to major studios. We all have different audiences and tastes. It’s just one more option for the masses. Actually, the porn world is constantly changing and it’s very difficult to make everyone happy.
With regards to the videos posted on YouTube, it’s simply to share other aspects of my life and not just sex. Many people just want to know what lies behind the porn star.
The naturalness of amateur videos is something we sometimes lack in professional video, but I think they’re two completely different worlds that don’t have much common ground.
Buenos Aires recently legalized gay marriage, however, couples aren’t eligible for adoption. Are you thinking of marrying your current partner? How do you see gay rights and homophobia in Latin America? What do you think should happen so gay people can live in equality with heterosexuals?
I haven’t lived Buenos Aires for several years, I just return there to visit my family. I heard that news, but Argentina still has further to go with these changes.
Of course I’ll marry Carlo soon, so stay tuned…
I think Latin American society in general is very morally hypocritical; homosexuals have always existed and will continue to exist. I’ve met many leaders and officials who are totally homophobic or against homosexuality and gays who are married with children while maintaining homosexual relationships. Homophobia is so backwards, it takes me a lot to believe it even still exists. Homophobia reveals such a high degree of ignorance, that many people don’t know what it means to be homosexual and that’s why they hate you. I believe that education’s an important weapon to ensure that everyone lives under the same conditions.
