The Grabbys 2013

awards_grabbys.jpg
This past weekend, the Grabby’s invaded Chicago, which is to say that all the best cocks and holes in the world were concentrated in one location. It’s a surprise there wasn’t a giant sinkhole by Lake Michigan. The Grabbys, as you might imagine, are like the Oscars for gay porn. Unlike the Oscars, however, the Grabbys are actually a fuckin’ blast.
The evening’s big winners were Cockyboys and Naked Sword, who both took home four awards. Cockyboys won big for Project GoGoBoy. Project GoGoBoy won Best Director (Jake Jackson), Movie of the Year, SteamWork’s Fan Favorite Movie, and Newcomer of the Year (Max Ryder, star of Project GoGoBoy). Check out acceptance speeches after the jump. Disclaimer: Unfortunately, Team QC missed the party this year, so all of these videos are secondhand from all over the blogosphere. Which is a shame, because it looks like we missed a hell of a party.

Naked Sword, who also stepped away with four awards, won Best Screenplay (Wilde Road), Best Performer (Christian Wilde), Best VOD Site and Best Mega-Site. It’s nice to see some recognition for two sites that we love love love here on Planet Unicorn.
Maybe the best news of the night is that Tommy Defendi, who has been passed over year after year, finally won an individual award. The Pandora Boxx of porn (or the Susan Lucci of porn, but JackManly beat us to that comparison). Other significant wins include Trenton Ducati (Best Versatile and Best Performer), Austin Wilde (Web Performer of the Year), and Dominic Ford (Best Original Content). Plus Matthew Rush earned a lifetime achievement award for his legendary career.
We would just casually like to point out how closely our readers’ tastes line up with the Grabby selection, which is really just to say that our readers have the best porn tastes on Planet Unicorn!

On to the acceptance speeches though! (Thanks to captainporno1 for putting the acceptance speeches on YouTube.)
Jake Jaxson, Jake Bass, and Max Ryder, accept an award for CockyBoys

Brent Corrigan presents Best Versatile Performer to Trenton Ducati:

Trenton Ducati accepts the award for Hottest Bottom on behalf of Tate Ryder:

And then there’s this acceptance speech from Max Ryder. At the beginning of the video, the presenter (who we can’t quite place) throws just the tiniest bit of shade at Jake Genesis, perhaps in light of his recent religiously-motivated retirement.

Our favorite speech of the evening comes from Brent Corrigan, who accepts his award, then shows his ass and tells a lovely story about razorburn and airplains. Atta boy, Brent!

Congratulations again to all the winners and we look forward to seeing what the next year has in store for you!
