Are You Planning To Attend “Pink Dot 2015” This Year?

Singapore’s biggest annual rally to celebrate the freedom to love (regardless of sexual orientations and gender identity) is facing the opposition of hate groups that with silly tactics are trying to torpedo what’s otherwise a lovely gathering.

We won’t give attention or traffic to those hate groups but to give you an idea of the level of craziness we can mention that they’re asking their followers and people in general on social media circles to pray for rain on the day of the event, yes really. We’re sure that even if it rains, the turnout will top last year’s pink dressed record attendance and that will make an even better story and headline. The 2015 ambassadors are Patricia Mok (a favourite among Chinese-speaking audiences, who probably recognise her from her roles in the popular Comedy Nite series on Channel 8,) Daren Tan (singer and winner of second season of Singapore’s Project Superstar,) and Munah & Hirzi (self-proclamied “Founding Prince and Princess of Singapore’s YouTube scene”,) They will greet Singaporeans and people from all over the world on June 13 to celebrate and reflect on the progress that has been made towards dispelling the discrimination and prejudice that face lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, as well as the many challenges that still remain. Team QC wishes all the best to PinkDot 2015 and we’re rooting for the success of this event!
