QC Profile: Gunboat

If you’ve spent anytime on QCam or the now suspended QClique, chances are you’ve run into the very sexy Gunboat. He’s a Polish 26-year-old who’s teasing photographs have gained him lots of fans. When he agreed to be QC’s first reader profile, he modestly worried about his English. “It’s far from perfect so be kind and correct my notorious misspells.” We think his English is great. In fact, we’ve left it unedited so you can “hear” his voice.
What’s even sexier is that he also speaks Polish, conversational German, and a little Medieval Latin. He’s traveled to Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark and UK. He’s also worked as a travel agent, a newspaper reporter, City Hall administrator, and a car parts salesman—a real Jack of All Trades! “I like changes I guess,” he said. We told him the interview would get as personal as he wanted, and he said “I don’t mind personal, it’s more interesting.” That’s what we like to hear—GAME ON!
“As you know,” Gunboat said. “Poland is rather strange country, where you can not say anything negative about church or god etc. Very conservative. It’s irritating but that’s just the way it is. Actually for me [writing for a newspaper] was great because it was very easy to upset and provoke people… it’s easy to make people talk and what’s the point in writing when nobody’s talking about it?” Good point, Gunboat. We couldn’t agree more.
He continued, “Because we’re so conservative we have so many taboos. In a way even sex is a taboo, most of my friends still have problems with buying condoms. Homosexuality is considered to be a disease. [It’s] easy to pick up [someone] for sex. We have Internet, but it’s all very quiet, hidden, and confidential. Gays can get hurt in Poland. We actually hate gays in Poland. We as a country, not me.”
With the conversation getting a bit heavy so early on, we switched gears. We asked “Are you seeing anyone now or are you single?” He responded, “Oh no, I’m single.” How delightful! “I’m good at being single,” he said. “Being in a relationship is difficult. I know what’s good for me and I’m really hard to live with. I guess my problem is… that I’m not much of a social person. I like solitude. I like to be alone and read or write, have my own time and space, and it’s hard for others to understand. I used to write some poetry but it was long time ago. I got bored.” These days he’s trying to write something longer, though not so much a book as a collection of short pieces about love and Poland, “And how hard it is when heart says yes but the mind says no.”
When he sees hot guys on QC, Gunboat thinks, “It’s not about being perfect, but trying to be better. I remember that all of QC is a fantasy and a game, not serious, just fun, full-out fucking. I try to keep sex fun.” Back when we had QueerClique, he certainly got a lot of friend requests and guys asking him to send pictures of his cock. But he only accepted friend requests from guys with more than just cock on their minds. As for his pics he said, “I’m not really into showing my dick etc. I like modesty and teasing. It is a turn on. I do what I find good and exciting for me. Don’t really think [about] if anybody likes it or not.”

TEN QUESTIONS WITH GUNBOAT:
QC: Your photos are scorching hot and have gotten a lot of comments. Can you tell us a little bit about when they were taken (who took them, where, why you took them, which one is your favorite, etc)?
GUNBOAT: Let me think. I guess they all were taken over a span of last 12 months. I made them all by myself. First it was curiosity. Then it became a great fun. It also helped me to deal with my body. I don’t want to sound pretentious but I always wanted to look like all those pretty men in magazines and TV and I was very effective in finding my own defects. Silly but true. And while making this pictures I found a way to accept my body and eventually like it. My favorite? This one. I really like it. It’s difficult for me to believe that it’s actually me.
QC: Have you ever considered modeling professionally for any studio? Say if a studio were to come a knocking, would you consider?
GUNBOAT: No, no, no. It’s just for fun. I don’t want to mix it with some kind of professional twist. It wouldn’t be fun anymore. I like it the way it is.
QC: What porn sites are you subscribed to currently? Why those?
GUNBOAT: QCam excluded? None. I’m not really into porn sites. Really. I like QueerClick and that’s just about it. I more into porn movies than porn sites. I like movement and sound.
QC: The music you had on your QueerClique profile was mostly electronic with female vocalists. What draws you to this sort of music?
GUNBOAT: I like female voices. Maybe it’s because girls are not afraid to express their emotions. Guys are boring. They sing about chicks, guns, and their buddies. Women seem to be more adventurous in both their vocals and lyrics part. I like to look at men and listen to ladies. That’s perfect combination for me.
QC: Finish this sentence: “Something very few know about me is…”
GUNBOAT: I’m very shy. Nobody believes me but it’s true. Do you believe me?
QC: What do you do to relax or enjoy yourself?
GUNBOAT: It depends on my mood. Sometimes I just want to hang out with my friends and have a beer or two or three. And sometimes I stay at home and read a book, write something, or simply listen to music and do nothing at all. There’s also a gym but I’m waaay to lazy to do a regular work out.
QC: Your profile listed “history” as one of your hobbies. If you could travel back to any one historical event, which would you visit and why?
GUNBOAT: Oh that’s tough one. One specific event? Maybe it would the beginning of Hitler’s autocracy in Germany? It’s really fascinating how a single man with a very average intellect, little knowledge, and huge self-insecurity was able to become one of the most important figures in contemporary history. I’d love to be there and see it with my own eyes. Understand better. Hitler interests me in many ways. I’m not an admirer. God forbid. But I’m very intrigued.
QC: What’s the most important issue (challenge) facing gay men today?
GUNBOAT: It’s challenging to be ourselves in not so gay-friendly world. To support and respect each other. And to believe in love. Really. I think it’s a great challenge.
QC: Finish this sentence: “If a guy wanted to get my interest, he would…”
GUNBOAT: He would have to be straight and forward about it. There’s no point in playing games with me. I’m a runner. It’s hard to catch me. But it’s possible.
QC:: Would you consider doing a video for QC fans?
GUNBOAT: I have no idea. It depends on what kind of video you have in mind. Porn? Don’t think so. I made one some time ago for my friend and you won’t believe me how stupid I looked. My friend loved it but for me watching it was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. Never again. At least not yet.
